First of all, the TN + FILM LCD panel is installed on the MacBook Air with all the ensuing consequences. If the horizontal viewing angles can still be called satisfactory, then the vertical viewing angles are completely small, and for comfortable work with a laptop you need to catch the "golden middle", where the image is not distorted. Otherwise, the colors and gamma are strongly shifted - right up to inversion.

The screen we tested on the version with a diagonal of 13.3 inches with a physical resolution of 1440 x 900 points. Yes, many are already spoiled by an increased pixel density on Retina displays, but, in my opinion, the clarity and resolution of the MacBook AIR screen for everyday use will be enough. In addition, the MACOS interface itself contains many tools for smoothing fonts and other tricks that skillfully hide flaws.

The measured maximum brightness was 351 kD / m2, this stock should be enough for most users. The coefficient of contrast reaches 880: 1, and the screen is equipped with an effective anti-glare, which is struggling with an external illumination. If the light does not hit directly into the screen, the image is quite intertwined, but from direct light sources it is not anywhere - the smooth glossy screen coating affects.

The average gamma is 2.28, which is quite close to the target value of 2.2. However, with different measurement methods, it could rise to 2.57, detecting insufficient brightness of the image relative to the signal.

The color temperature on the critical range ranges from 6500K to 7000K, which is quite acceptable. White balance is quite well sustained on light colors, but "sprawling" on dark - especially close to 10% gray.

The average value of the Deltae color deviation is acceptable - about 7 units. The visual assessment of the gray scale is quite good, but if you look at, some shades fluctuations are still present.

Color coverage does not significantly reach the SRGB standard. Colors lack depth and saturation. In addition, the brightness of the blue color is strongly knocked out on a general background (+ 139%). The average color deflection of Deltae is large - just above 10. However, the colors (except blue) have better indicators. The visual assessment of the image has shown that the screen tends to "merge" together some bright shades, which does not add to him the glasses.

In general, the Apple MacBook Air screen is suitable for an undemanding user for every day to engage in the simplest tasks - for example, surfing on the Internet.

For tasks more comprehensive, which require special attention to the image (for example, photography), you already want a better screen. And if Apple offers such options on more expensive models, then the competitors will have for the same money as MacBook Air. So it is not excluded that it is worth looking towards various alternatives.

For a laptop there are two Intel processors of the Haswell family. According to them, the 2013 models are gaining more points than previously produced models. The amount of RAM is 4 GB of DDR3-1600, but can be ordered and models with 8 GB.

The 64 GB version of the internal memory is no longer available, now the minimum volume of the disk system is 128 GB, and if necessary, you can select solid-state drives and larger volumes: by 256 or even 512 GB. The embedded graphics are Intel HD5000. The laptop works quickly and quietly, it is noise only at high load when the photo or video is processed in the editors, in the rest of the modes, it is just a soreman. So, on the role of a printing machine on travel, it is just perfect. With cooling, everything is in order, the surface under normal conditions does not overheat, the fans are not heard. As before, it is worth only to open the lid, as a laptop wakes up and ready to work. Closed the lid - it sleeps and very economically spending energy in this mode, especially if you disable Power NAP - a function that allows you to check mail and receive messages while the user does not work for its laptop.

The laptop normally performs the tasks set in front of him that the user highlights such thin computers: work with documents, watching video, Internet or fast photo processing.

In other words, it easily performs what is needed by most buyers. With games due to the absence of powerful graphics here, as before, it is difficult, so it is not worth it to count on it in this regard.

Apple promises that in the sleep mode, the laptop breaks up to 1 month. The charging itself occurs very quickly, it takes less than 1.5 hours, the power supply has not changed at all, this is all the same small charge charger for 45 W.

The model with a 13-inch screen, where the more capacious battery is also worth it, will provide even longer battery life, it will be higher by 15-20% relative to the younger version.
