Prefix perfeo dvb t2. Proper connection and setup of DVB-T2 set-top boxes

To take advantage of digital sound and image quality both in the city and in the country, you do not need to buy a new TV - all DVB-T2 consoles Perfeo   You can even connect to the "old" analog! All models are equipped with a USB port, they can operate as a media player and record broadcast television programs in digital quality on external media (PVR function), and also support the “delayed viewing” mode (TimeShift function) - now you can simply click on the “Pause” button, and Then continue watching TV from the same place.

In models PF-168-1   and PF-168-3   there is a built-in media player with support for all popular video formats, as well as a codec AC3   when playing media files with Dolby Digital sound. Both models are presented in two versions: with internal or external power supply.

Featured Series compact   DVB-T2 set-top boxes Perfeo   consists of models PF-120-1, PF-120-2   (both on the Novatek 78336 processor) and PF-120-3   (on the MStar 7T01 processor), equipped with external power supplies. At very attractive prices, compact consoles lack support for the AC3 codec, which does not hurt to enjoy your favorite TV shows with an audio track in MP3 format. In two models - PF-120-1 and PF-120-3 - are provided holes for wall mounting.

Ultra compact   prefixes Pf-T2-1   and Pf-T2-2   They use the MStar 7T01 processor and are not inferior in functionality to larger brothers. The PF-T2-2 option is powered by a USB connector (if there is none on the TV, you can use the optional USB adapter), and the overall dimensions of the PF-T2-1 are only 83 x 46 x 18 mm, which allows you to hide this set-top box behind the TV. mounted on a wall mount.

A small overview of a miniature DVB-T2 digital TV viewer.

We already have televisions and a digital TV tuner at home, but I got a Perfeo PF-T2-1 receiver at a very attractive price, only 600 rubles! Double intrigue - miniature and price played a decisive role in choosing this device.
In principle, the functionality of modern receivers (they are also tuners) differ little. Standard outputs are tulips and HDMI. Scheduled recording, Timeshift, currently 2 working multiplexes (20 TV channels and 3 radio).
  The main differences between the devices of this rapidly growing army are the dimensions and convenience of the remote control and navigation buttons.
  on the menu, as well as the speed of switching channels. Recent models increasingly support the AC3 codec needed to play sound in movies downloaded from the Internet. However, all the tuners that I came across had raw software without the possibility of updating the firmware. In other words, to a greater or lesser extent, each tuner and TV has glitches that do not work or do not work properly.

Distinctive features of the receiver Perfeo PF-T2-1

As already mentioned, the functionality of Perfeo PF-T2-1   standard. The main
  Features are hidden in the connectors and connected wires:

  • A wire with “tulips” is connected to the device using the plug included in the kit.
  • The infrared receiver for working with the remote control is not built into the case, but is connected separately.
  • The receiver has external power, and a five-volt adapter is not included.
  • To connect a USB flash drive, you also have to buy an adapter.

It is important to note that the so-called “OTG-connector” has a non-standard format. Why this is done - only God knows. Look at the photo above. See the left connector labeled "USB"? Here it is somehow necessary to connect a USB flash drive. You won’t stick any flash drive or any fashionably called “OTG adapter” there. With the same success, Perfeo engineers could solder some RS-232 or LPT connector, which could not be implemented during the demand period. The only way out is to buy separate connectors and solder the adapter yourself.

The power socket is round, if you do not plan to connect a USB flash drive, a 5 Volt 1 Amp power supply is suitable. If you want to connect a USB flash drive, then you need a 5 Volt 2 Ampere block. You can use charging from a mobile phone, the benefit of an adapter for connecting to a charger is included.

The external sensor of the IR remote control is mounted on a double-sided Velcro in a place convenient for you. Also inside it there is a red-blue indicator that displays the operating mode of the receiver.

And now, all the wires are connected, the remote control is charged with batteries. Turn on auto-search channels! The first channel was caught .... We are waiting ... On the screen for a long time nothing changes, there is no reaction to the remote control either.
The blue screen is the end of the test for our Perfeo PF-T2 receiver. Neither re-inclusion, nor dancing with a tambourine could bring him back to life. Out of curiosity, I sorted it out, see what happened there ???

I think there is nothing more to write about - Perfeo anticipated all expectations!

In conclusion

... .. If the old basin were stronger, my story would be longer. (c)

Seriously, having bought a 2 amp power supply, and the ingenious “OTG” cable for a flash drive, there will be no win at the price, but how long will the receiver last?

How to connect Perfeo PF-T2-1?

After writing the article I was asked to explain how this receiver is connected. Indeed, the instructions for the device are rather scarce, I didn’t get the connection diagram of the Perfeo PF-T2-1 on the Internet, and I already passed my copy. But I found a video (it is at the end of the article), where they show not ours, but a very similar model.

Video notes:

1) At the beginning of the video, the USB connector (flat one, if anyone does not know) is plugged into the TV. I do not advise doing this. More precisely, you can check the performance at the very beginning and in this way. Then I advise you to buy a charger. It looks something like this, color and shape do not play a role, the main thing is that there should be such a rectangular connector as in the photo, and the current should be 1.5 or 2 amperes. In extreme cases, 1 amp can also be used.

2) “Tulips” (three multi-colored connectors) connect to the TV input. But in old TVs there may not be a red connector, then connect only white and yellow. If the TV has more than three nests for tulips, include in those that have the inscription "INPUT" or "IN".

3) The infrared receiver (time in video 1:45) at Perfeo PF-T2-1 has a completely different connector - round and thin. It connects to the “IR IN” jack. Be sure to insert it to the very end, you may have to press harder. If you insert it not to the very end, nothing will work!
  The infrared receiver should be turned with the dark red side towards us, and do not shove it over the TV. Any objects on the way to the remote control will interfere with the switching and tuning of channels.

After turning on the TV and receiver, on the remote control, press the "menu" button and select the channel setting on the screen, usually this item is called "Automatic program search".

On video not Perfeo PF-T2-1, but everything is connected in the same way.

The modern world is impossible to imagine without digital TV. Such signal transmission has long been used for broadcasting television and radio channels in many countries of Europe, America and Asia. In Russia, the process of transition from analogue to digital TV was delayed.

The digital signal coming through the receiver’s antenna allows you to watch more TV channels across the country without loss of quality and interference. The signal itself can then come both to the antenna, which is attached to the set-top box, and directly to the TV. It all depends on how modern the model of this device you have.

With devices that support DVB-T2, everything is simple. In order to connect to a digital TV, just insert the cable into the appropriate connector and perform a simple channel setup. If your TV is outdated and does not support reception of this type of signal, then in order to watch digital channels you should purchase a special set-top box. It is inexpensive, but some people may have problems connecting it and setting it up, so today we’ll talk about how to do it.

What is needed for this

To connect a digital TV you will need:

  • TV;
  • Prefix (receiver);
  • Antenna.

At the same time, your TV should have an input into which you can insert an antenna, a tulip-type connector, as well as an input with a video output (scart). If together you have a scart connector hdmi input, then do not worry. It is also suitable for connecting the receiver. Just your model is newer.

Before buying a receiver, you should understand which one is better and find out which parameters you should pay attention to in order to choose the most optimal model. If you don’t understand much about technology and don’t want to spend your free time studying all these nuances, you can contact a company that provides broadcasting services in your city and get advice from their specialists. In addition, you can take advantage of promotional offers from a service provider. Often, provided you connect to their services, you can receive the receiver as a gift.

The receiver, in fact, is an adapter that allows you to receive and transmit a signal to your device. He can receive it through the following sources:

  • Satellite dish;
  • Antenna
  • Through the Internet;
  • Using other sources.

Connecting a digital set-top box

The receiver can be connected either directly to the TV, or via a DVD or monitor, however, for the last two options you will most likely need to purchase a special adapter.

In order to connect the receiver directly, you should do the following:

  1. Take the TV box out of the box and remove the protective film from it. Film must be removed. Otherwise, the receiver may overheat and break.
  2. Take a TV cable and cut off the protective sheath, thus exposing 1-15 millimeters of cable on both sides. The shell should be cleaned very carefully so as not to damage the shielding film, which is designed to protect the center conductor.
  3. Gently peel back the shiny protective film and screw the f-connectors to the wires.
  4. Connect the TV to the set-top box with a cable.
  5. Insert the wires into the tulip connectors on the TV and set-top box.
  6. Connect the antenna to the TV. In this case, the antenna itself should be installed on the external wall of the house or on your balcony if it is not glazed. At the same time, make sure that it is not touched by tree branches or power wires.

This completes the process of connecting a TV set-top box. Next, to watch the available channels in your area, you must configure it.

In our country, many people still use televisions, which were produced back in the Soviet years or in the early 90s. Connecting a receiver to such devices is not so easy - they do not have “tulip” connectors. In addition, some models have scart outputs, but they only accept component signals.

There are two ways to solve these problems:

  • Find the circuit for the adapter from the input A / V to scart and solder it yourself;
  • Buy a special adapter in the store, to which you can connect the RCA cable from the console or the adapter cable.

There are even more ancient models of televisions of the type "Electron" in which no inputs are provided at all, except for the antenna connector. Through this connector, a modulated high-frequency signal is supplied to the TV, so in order to watch digital TV on this type of device you will need to purchase an additional modulator that will be equipped with RCA connectors.

Receiver Setup

In order to configure digital channels on the TV, after connecting to the set-top box, you will need to perform the following steps:

  1. On the remote control, press the "Menu" button.
  2. In the window that opens, go to the settings menu.
  3. As a country you need to choose Russia, if it is not by default.
  4. Now you need to select a signal standard. By default, DTV-T / DTV-T2 is set, that is, analog and digital TV, respectively. If you leave it like this, the TV will search for both these and these channels.
  5. You will be prompted to perform automatic or manual tuning. Select Automatic and press the OK button on the remote control.
  6. Now you need to wait a while until all available free and paid TV channels are discovered. At the end of the search, click "Save."

This is one of the easiest ways to set up digital TV at home. If the TV found few channels or did not find them at all, then you should use manual tuning.

To do this, you need to delete all the channels that were found for this. After the channels are deleted, you must repeat the same steps as for automatic search, but instead of automatic tuning, select manual search. You will see a window in which you should set the frequency at which digital channels are broadcast in your city. You can find out this frequency online or by contacting your service provider. It may also be necessary to change the search range in order for the search to begin.

After the TV channels of the first multiplex are found, you will need to find out the frequency for the second multiplex in your city and start the manual search again. Thanks to this, you can watch more channels.

Signal Quality Check

To make sure that you did everything correctly and everything works well, you should check the signal reception quality. Make it easy. The receiver should have a button with the name INFO. By clicking on it three times, a window appears with information on signal quality, channel number, frequency and encoding. If the two existing indicators are above 60%, then everything is fine and the signal level is quite acceptable.

Perhaps, in your model of TV set-top box, this button will be called differently. To find out how this button is called with you, look at the instructions and read the purpose of the buttons.

If your TV catches several multiplexes, do not forget to check the signal quality on each of them. This is due to the fact that each of them is transmitted and received using different transmitters, so it is very possible that in one multiplex the signal will be good, and in the second - not.

Note.

Allowing to watch digital television. Digital TV has significantly more advantages than conventional, which is why many are switching to it. And you need to start, of course, with choosing a receiver. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the brand of the manufacturer, functionality, quality and, of course, price. Finally, having acquired a digital receiver, you must prepare it for use. But how to do that? In this article, you will learn how to connect and configure DVB-T2 digital television. Let's understand the issue together.

If you want to learn how to set up a set-top box, then this article is for you

First of all, you need to connect all the elements together. There is nothing difficult, see for yourself. Connect the antenna to the receiver, and the receiver itself to the TV. And that’s it - it's done! Recommended connect the console via HDMI cable   , of course, provided that the devices have corresponding inputs and connectors. If HDMI is not supported, connect through the usual “tulips”. With any model of the set-top box, there is an instruction in the kit, which clearly shows what and what needs to be connected.

Separately, it is worth noting the functionality of the “RF IN” and “Rf LOOP” connectors. The cable coming from the television antenna is connected to the “RF IN” connector, and “Rf LOOP” is the output received from the “RF IN” connector of the signal for its further transmission to other devices, that is, it can be called a replacement for “tees”.

Getting started connecting the device

Please note that the setup process is the same for all models of digital receivers, so it does not matter which brand your set-top box is. Of course, the design of the windows and some names of the menu sections may vary slightly, but the general essence does not change.

First, select a connection method

After connecting the device, turn on the TV and set-top box. On the TV you need to select the video input   to go to the receiver menu. If everything was done correctly, then on the screen you will see a welcome window in which you will need to select the language, region, mode and image format, as well as the search mode. Set the necessary parameters using the console console. Settings can not be changed and leave them by default. Click “OK” to go to the next window.

The first dialog box on the screen

If in the “Search Mode” section is “DVB-T + DVB-T2”, the receiver will immediately find all the channels available for your region on its own. But this method will only work if you already have a working antenna in the right direction. At the end of the auto search, you can close the menu and enjoy viewing. Other users need to perform antenna positioning. There is nothing complicated in this, all that is needed is to make several settings in the receiver menu.

The list of available channels is loaded manually or automatically.

If you didn’t have an antenna before and it appeared just now, along with the DVB-T2 set-top box, being in the welcome window, press the button to open the menu on your remote control. Go to the “DVBT Setup” section and select “Channel Search”. In the window that opens, set the "Search Mode". Here you can set both “by channel” and “by frequency”. There is not much difference here - choose what you like best. Next, set the search bar to “UHF”.

To simplify the process of searching for channels, go to a special site with information on frequency channels for your specific city. In principle, this is not necessary, you can do without it, but this approach will facilitate and speed up the setup process. Select the desired value in the "Frequency channel". If the direction was chosen correctly, then after a couple of seconds you will see the filled scales "Signal Strength" and "Signal Quality" at the bottom of the window. If the level of the scales is good, then click "Search." After that, the receiver will perform tuning in a given frequency channel.

In the event that you do not know the desired direction of the antenna, take it and gently twist it, following the intensity and quality scales. Once they are filled to an acceptable level, fasten the antenna and search. Once tV setup process   will be completed, you can exit the menu and start browsing.

Most models provide the ability to simultaneously connect both through the connectors type "tulip", and via HDMI

If you are simultaneously connected through the “tulips” and via HDMI, you can switch from one cable to another during viewing. It is better to watch through HDMI, as in this case the image quality will be much higher.

Now you can easily perform DVB-T2 yourself. As you can see, understanding this issue is not difficult. Write in the comments if this article helped you and ask questions if any points were unclear.
