Resolution of the State Committee of Standards of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of May 20, 1977 No. 1268 The deadline for administration is established
from 01.01. 1980
This standard establishes the purpose, the distribution area, classification and rule of standards designation included in the complex of a unified system documentation system (ECPD).
1. Purpose ECPD
1.1. Unified Software Documentation System - Complex state standardsestablishing interconnected rules for the development, design and circulation of programs and software documentation.
1.2. In the ECPD standards, the requirements regulating the development, support, manufacturing and operation of programs, which makes it possible:
- unification of software products for mutual exchange of programs and the application of previously developed programs in new developments;
- reduce labor intensity and improving the efficiency of development, maintenance, manufacture and operation of software products;
- automation of manufacturing and storing software documentation.
The support of the program includes the analysis of the functioning, development and improvement of the program, as well as making changes to it in order to eliminate errors.
2. The distribution area and the composition of the ECPD
2.1. The rules and provisions established in the ECAP standards apply to programs and software documentation for computing machines, complexes and systems, regardless of their appointment and application.
2.2. The ECPD includes:
- fundamental and organizational and methodological standards;
- standards defining forms and content software documentsused in data processing;
- standards providing automation of software documents.
2.3. The development of organizational and methodological documentation, which determines and regulating the activities of organizations to develop, maintain and operate programs, should be carried out on the basis of ECPD standards.
3. Classification and designation of ECPD standards
3.1. ECPD standards are divided into groups shown in the table.

3.2. The designations of ECPD standards are built by classification sign.
The designation of the ECPD standard should include:
- figures 19 assigned to the ECPD standards class;
- one digit (after point), denoting the code of the classification group of standards specified in clause 3.1;
- a two-digit number that defines the sequence number of the standard in the group;
- a two-digit number (after a dash) indicating the year of registration of the standard.
