   Megafon has found a replacement for tariffs with unlimited Internet access. Now subscribers are offered unlimited access to the main messengers and social networks, however, the list of these services is unevenly distributed between tariffs.

Megafon has introduced a new line of “Turn on” package tariff plans. Instead of unlimited Internet traffic, the new tariffs offer unlimited access to social networks, instant messengers and other Internet services.

The “Talk” tariff plan for a monthly fee of 500 rubles. per month provides 600 minutes of calls, 3 GB of Internet traffic and unlimited traffic to WhatsApp, Viber and eMotion instant messengers. The tariff is aimed at users who need voice communication along with messaging in messengers.

Tariff “Listen” is intended for music lovers. For a monthly fee of 500 rubles. 250 minutes of calls are offered per month, 6 GB of Internet traffic, unlimited access to instant messengers (WhatsApp, Viber, eMotion) and music services (Vkontakte Music, Boom, Yandex.Music, Zvooq).

Unlimited social networks

The “Communicate” tariff is intended for active Internet users. In the tariff for 600 rubles. per month includes 500 minutes of calls, 12 GB of Internet traffic, unlimited access to instant messengers (WhatsApp, Viber, eMotion) and social networks (VKontakte, Facebook, Odnoklassniki).

The “Look” tariff plan is intended for active Internet users and video streaming. At first glance, the uneven distribution of Internet services between tariffs is obvious. So, from social networks, free access to Instagram is provided only in the Premium and Watch tariffs. Similarly, from messengers, free access to Telegram, FB Messenger and OK Messenger is available only in the Premium tariff. At the same time, access to the social networks Facebook and Odnoklassniki is present in more  tariff plans.

If the tariff plan does not contain unlimited access to any services, then it is possible to connect the option. A package of unlimited access to all of the above messengers will cost 2 rubles. per day, a package of unlimited access to social networks (Vkontakte, Facebook, Odnoklassniki) - 4 rubles. per day, unlimited access to Instagram - 2 rubles. per day. Although Internet traffic is limited in all tariffs, you cannot distribute Internet from the smartphone in the option or modem mode: for this you need to connect an additional option.

In addition to the “Write” and “Listen” tariffs, a package of minutes can be spent on both local and long-distance calls. The tariffs "Premium", "Communicate" and "Watch" continue to apply when traveling around the country. In the “Talk” tariff, the package of minutes is valid for trips around the country, and in the “Listen” tariff - a traffic package. Replacing tariffs with unlimited traffic

The new line of tariffs has replaced the line of tariffs “All inclusive”. In the latest modification of this line, the monthly fee was from 300 rubles. per month up to 2.7 thousand rubles. per month. In the new line, the monthly fee is slightly higher. Users of new tariffs will receive additional opportunity  in the form of unlimited traffic to social networks and instant messengers, but in most tariffs there will be no package of included SMS.

This is in line with Megafon’s new approach to tariff setting - “more for more” (more opportunities for big money), announced last week by the operator’s commercial director Vlad Wolfson.

In addition, earlier Megafon refused unlimited tariffs  on mobile Internet - the corresponding option was in the previous line of tariffs, but now it is not available for new connections.

Recall that since the end of 2016, mobile operators, one after another, began to refuse tariffs with unlimited Internet access. The first to take such a step was Yota - a subsidiary of Megafon. On May 29, Megafon announced the launch of seven new tariffs under the general name “Turn on!”. The company tried to diversify its package rates in accordance with the needs of users. From the same day, all-inclusive packages were closed for connection.

The names of the new tariffs are at first glance unusual: “Open”, “Write”, “Listen”, “Speak”, “Communicate”, “Watch”, “Premium”. In the "Megaphone" such a naming is considered very convenient and intuitive. It is understood that the “Write” tariff is for SMS lovers and instant messengers, “Listen” is for music lovers, “Speak” is for voice calls by mobile network  etc.

It is also worth noting that the new line of tariffs is maximally unified in all Ural regions (the same prices), to which Megafon includes the Republic of Udmurtia, Kirov, Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk Regions, Perm Territory, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The most budgetary package will cost 200 rubles a month, and the most expensive - in 1990 rubles a month.

Representatives of the operator noted that the new tariffs were developed using the analysis of "big data" and the behavioral characteristics of existing subscribers.

Most interestingly, a couple of months ago the same people claimed that unlimited Internet  and unlimited in general is an extremely unpopular and unclaimed service.

The list of social networks and messengers is extensive: VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, Tam Tam, BOOM, Yandex.Music, Zvooq, VKontakte Music, YouTube, Rutube, Vimeo and others. Audio and video in social networks are also unlimited and the package does not consume.

But you should not deceive yourself. Cheap tariffs include only a minimal set of instant messengers and social networks without “heavy content”. The more expensive the tariff, the wider the list of social networks, multimedia services and instant messengers included in it. If there is no one in the list, then you have to buy a separate option with a monthly fee. All this business can be connected for an additional fee (option "Messengers +"). And here you can’t connect free Instagram, music or video services at this rate.

In addition to the three instant messengers, the base tariff includes 500 minutes for all operators of the home region, 500 SMS, 4 GB of mobile Internet. When the prepaid package of services is exhausted, calls to Megafon in your home region are free, while other outgoing calls are charged at 1.5 rubles per minute. SMS also cost 1.5 rubles. Internet will be charged in blocks: 30 rubles for every 200 MB  until the end of the billing period.

The package of services can be spent only in the region of connection, roaming is available in the rest of the territory.

Tariffs “Speak” and “Listen”

The “Talk” and “Listen” tariffs have the same monthly fee - 450 rubles per month. True, the packages included services are fundamentally different. The first tariff is most suitable for lovers of long telephone conversations, and the second - for young people and fans of listening to music from Yandex, Contact, etc.

The site portal decided to sort out such a generous offer from MegaFon PJSC and found out many significant tricks aimed not at the convenience of subscribers, but at the banal increase in the company's revenue due to large debits from its subscribers' accounts.

Firstly  , the amount of traffic provided for communication through messengers is very limited. MegaFon provides for 99 rubles a day 100 Mb  traffic, after which, the speed drops to 64 Kbps, which is equivalent to the lack of an Internet connection, because at this speed it is only possible to send text messages, and then with "great difficulty."

Secondly, the action is designed for only 4 messengers - Whatsapp, Viber, Telegram  and eMotion. However, smartphone users tend to use more than just them. Those who like to share their impressions and upload their photos on the Internet, in principle, to the marketing operator, these are the users for whom the option is designed, use completely different applications - Instagram, Facebook, VKontakte and other media-oriented Internet services content

That is, when using any other messenger or social network, users will have to pay at completely different prices.

Thirdly if the user still decided to use the option “Unlimited messengers on trips around the world”, he will have to not disconnect the data transfer service abroad in the settings of his smartphone. This means that a user will be charged in excess of 99 rubles for instant messengers, another 99 rubles for every 10 MB of traffic spent by other applications on the smartphone.

That is, the traffic that is used in the background, for example, to download updates by a smartphone or just to operate the system, is not included in the unlimited option for instant messengers and is consumed from the “10 Mb in roaming” package. By the way, if 10 MB runs out, the next package is activated automatically and another 99 rubles will be charged. Automatically 5 traffic packets are connected sequentially per day.

It turns out that if the user decides to use, for example, WhatsApp or Viber abroad, then at least he will spend 198 rubles a day (99 rubles for the option "Unlimited messengers on trips around the world" and 99 rubles as part of the automatically connected package "10 Mb in roaming "). At the same time, if the subscriber will use social networks, or his smartphone will spend more than 10 MB, then spending may increase up to 594 rub. per day.

On all tariffs of the “Turn on!” Family if the provided traffic is used up ahead of time, auto-renewal of speed is activated. AT auto mode additional 200 MB Internet packages are connected to the user for a small fee. Up to 15 additional Internet packages can be connected within a month. If the subscriber has disabled auto-renewal or there are not enough funds on the phone balance, then after the main Internet package has been exhausted, the operator completely restricts access to the Network.

Internet options for the phone

Megafon tariffs do not include included Internet packages for calls. Traffic is charged per megabyte, which is quite expensive if you are used to spending a lot of time on the Internet. But this problem is easily solved by connecting tariff options for the Internet.

It should be noted that the “Internet XS, S, M, L and XL” options are subject to the same restrictions as the “Turn on!” Tariffs for Internet traffic. That is, after the Internet package has been exhausted, a paid package of additional traffic is automatically connected. If auto-renew is disabled or there are not enough funds on your account, access to the Network is blocked. Thus, the tariff options “Internet XS, S, M, L and XL” also cannot be called unlimited.

A partial exception is the option "Internet XL", in which night traffic is not limited, and in the daytime 30 GB of Internet is provided per month. This is the only tariff option with unlimited Internet access at Megafon.

If you want to connect unlimited Internet Megafon without traffic restrictions, then the “Internet XL” tariff option is the only option with unlimited access to the Network from all the operator’s current offers, including tariffs for the Internet.

Unlimited Internet Megaphone for tablet and modem

The situation with unlimited Internet for tablets and modems on Megaphone is exactly the same as with the Internet for phones. Completely unlimited Internet without restrictions is available only in the form of the tariff option “Internet XL”. As for the tariff plans for these devices, they represent the basic tariffs without the included traffic and monthly fee:

• Megaphone online  - tariff for modems, designed to connect the options “Internet S, M, L or XL”. The cost of 1 megabyte of traffic without Internet options is 2.5 rubles.
• “Internet without worries for a tablet”  - Internet tariff for tablets. You can connect the options “Internet Tablet XS”, “Internet Tablet S” or one of the options “Internet M, L and XL”. As a small bonus from the operator, 300 MB of Internet are provided free of charge in the first 7 days after connecting the tariff.

Obviously, the rejection of unlimited Internet is beneficial for mobile operators. In particular, despite the fact that it is impossible to connect Unlimited Internet Megafon to a phone, subscribers will still use mobile Internet. And those who did not meet the established limit will be forced to purchase to resume access to the Network.

The MegaFon Unlimited tariff plan from MegaFon allows subscribers to get unlimited access to the Internet in the home region and almost anywhere in Russia, with the exception of some areas. The tariff will be of interest primarily to active Internet users in 3G / 4G format on smartphones and tablets.

The tariff provides for a monthly subscription, the size of which varies depending on the region. For example, subscribers from Moscow and the region will pay 20 rubles daily, and from the Krasnodar Territory - only 11 rubles for the same period. • Subscription fee - 20 rubles per day

The first time you connect MegaFon Unlimited or switch from another tariff, the amount for the first 7 days of service is debited from the subscriber’s account. At the same time, the subscriber gets access to Internet traffic in the amount of 7/30 of the monthly volume. Starting from the 8th day of using the tariff and on the following days, a monthly fee is charged daily.

The minimum advance payment when connecting is 160 rubles, the connection itself is free.

Package of services within tariff plan  MegaFon Unlimited includes:

1. 250 minutes of calls to MegaFon and other operators of the home region. You can use the package of free minutes both in the region where the tariff is connected and outside of it on the territory of the Russian Federation.
2. 200 SMS to numbers of all operators of the home region, including MegaFon. Free SMS can be sent in your region and while traveling in Russia.
3. Unlimited mobile internet.
4. Unlimited on-net calls.
