LED lamp t8 voltage 90-260V power 24W brightness 2360Lm cap type g13 length 900mm

In practice, it has long been known that during the operational use of raster lamps, people do not need to purchase new lamps for installing LED lighting. The main effective option for renovation are 600 mm and 1200 mm T8 LED lamps.

Such lamps are ideal for office space, shops. Often installed in suspended ceilings. Now fluorescent lamps 600 x 600 mm with installed fluorescent lamps 4x18 W have practically lost their relevance and have been replaced with new LED lamps. Such a lamp fixture is installed in an overhead method.

If you want to save on a full-fledged LED luminaire, you can turn the indicated 4 x 18 W fluorescent luminaire into an LED one by simply replacing the lamps with T8 LED lamps with a G13 base. In the manufacture of tubes, matte and transparent polycarbonate material is used, and LEDs are installed inside.

The 1200 mm LED light bulbs with G13 base are also equipped with LED elements. They have the required length and can similarly replace 36 W fluorescent lamps in 2 x 36 W luminaires.

When performing such replacement of light sources, it is also necessary to reconstruct the wiring inside the luminaire. T8 LED light sources are usually connected directly to a 220V network. But be sure to check this in the instructions!

We briefly dwelled on the main, most common options, now we will consider the issue in more detail.

The main types of lamps

The standard sizes of LED lamps are 600mm, 900mm, 1200mm.

According to their design characteristics, they are divided into two types:

  • A lamp where the driver is installed inside the tube under the diodes. The voltage in this lamp reaches up to 220 V.
  • A lamp that uses an external driver. Voltage level 12V / 24V.

Flasks are classified into the following types:

  • Matte;
  • Transparent;
  • Translucent;
  • Not transparent.

In the manufacture of flasks, use:

  • Archylic plastic;
  • Polycarbonate.

These materials are durable and reliable in use.

Standard sizes:

The luminous flux and power consumption increases depending on the length of the light source and is approximately (at different manufacturers may differ):

  • 600 mm, T8 G13, 870-1100 lumens, 10 W;
  • 900mm, T8 G13, 1200-1300lm, 13W
  • 1200 mm, T8 G13, 1450-1900 lumens, 15-18 W
  • 1500mm, T8 G13, 2030-2365lm, 22-24W

The color temperature varies depending on the type of lamp:

  • Warm white light (2700–3500 K);
  • Neutral white (3500–4500 K);
  • Cold, slightly blue (over 4500 K).

Of all types, the most the best option will turn out to be neutral white light. This kind of light is great for the eyes. The eyes will not get tired, and the light will shine brightly. However, for rooms for which it is necessary to create a homely atmosphere of comfort (kitchen, bedroom), warm white light will be more acceptable.

Which option to choose

LED lamp t8 have become a popular light source due to the high cost-effectiveness of this solution for replacing fluorescent light with LED. The luminaire body itself remains unchanged. Another plus for these lamps is the ease of replacement in case of failure.

We have all heard that LED light lasts a long time: 50,000-100,000 hours, that is, more than 20 years. Unfortunately, we do not achieve this service life for ordinary household cases, and even for cases of purchasing LED lamps at enterprises.

It happens as according to the proverb "the miser pays twice." In fact, cheap low-quality LED light sources are purchased with a garbage current control circuit and junk LEDs. As a result, 2-3 years is the ultimate service life of such devices. And the unreachable bar of 10–20 years of service remains the lot of those who are ready to purchase a professional high-quality device. For example, the price of a high-quality analogue of a 4 x 18 W fluorescent lamp cannot be less than 2000–2500 rubles. And of course, it should be borne in mind that expensive is not a guarantee yet, and perhaps the seller's desire to earn more by selling a low-quality product.

Features of LED lamps

Light flow

If you decide to purchase a LED lamp - analogue 18 W / 36 W fluorescent with a G13 base, then the first step is to decide on the required luminous flux. Brighter options will cost more as they use more energy efficient diodes. At the same power, such a lamp will shine brighter.

Ripple factor

This is an important characteristic that affects health. Ideally, this figure should be less than 1%, but the existing legal limit is 5%. It is this ripple and no more should be at light sources in rooms where people work with a PC. Considering the fact that we all use phones, tablets, smartphones and other gadgets in different rooms, then if you care about your health, then make it a rule to use light sources with a ripple of no more than 5%.

Colour temperature

As indicated earlier, the "warmer" the light, the more comfortable, cozy and relaxing atmosphere, and vice versa, the "colder" - the more invigorating, aggressive, working.

Installation in a luminaire

Consider the issue of replacing fluorescent lamps and give a wiring diagram for the t8 LED tube.

The connection diagram for LED lamps is quite simple and does not require much effort. However, before connecting, read the instructions, as other options are possible. In particular, there are T8 G13 kits that may require daisy-chaining.

To connect, it is necessary to supply 220 V mains voltage to the 220 V lamp using the lamp wires and do not use others. additional devices.
It is necessary to remove the starter from the fluorescent lamp and short-circuit the choke. This is necessary to supply the correct voltage to the LED lamp.
In the future, if desired, it will be possible to return the starter and the fluorescent lamp back.

Related Videos

In this video, the specialist left the chokes in the lamp, however, you can dismantle them, since after rework they are already useless there.

Practical research has shown that when using raster lighting devices to create an LED lighting system, users do not need to buy new lighting equipment.

The technical characteristics of the luminaires allow you to easily install a diode light element in them. Most in a suitable way in performing this task, the built-in LED lamp t8 for 120 cm and 60 cm is considered. The product economically consumes electricity, ensures safety in use and guarantees a long service life.

Technical features of the T8 series lamp

These units are perfect for furnishing offices, industrial premises, commercial buildings, supermarkets and other types of shops. Today, lighting equipment with built-in 4/18 W fluorescent elements is no longer as popular as it used to be. They were replaced by more advanced and small-sized 600 mm T8 LED lamps of the overhead type.

If you already have 4x18 W fluorescent lighting devices, you can significantly reduce the cost of purchasing full-fledged LED lamps and modernize the old ones for tubular T8 diodes with a g13 base. In the process of manufacturing the product, to create the case, matte or transparent polycarbonate is used, a certain number of LED elements are laid inside.

LED lamps t8 1200 mm, the price of which has minor differences, is equipped with diodes in the same way. The devices have the required length, which is suitable for connection to a 2x36W fluorescent lamp.

For the modernization of lighting installations, it is not enough to put the led t8 model corresponding to the length, it is also necessary to reconstruct the wiring in the equipment itself. LEDs have a direct connection system to a 220V power supply source.

Varieties of fluorescent lamps

Today, the domestic market offers a wide range of LED tube lamps, differing in the type of driver, power and size.

In terms of dimensions, the product is subdivided into three types in terms of length:

  • 600 mm;
  • 900 mm;
  • 1200 mm.

By design features, lighting equipment has the following classifications:

  • a device with a built-in driver inside a polycarbonate case, below the diodes. The maximum voltage level is 220V.
  • element with installed driver external type. The voltage level varies between 12-24V.

The body of the unit itself has a different coating, which provides a sharp or diffused glow:

  • Frosted bulb;
  • Translucent;
  • Opaque glossy;
  • Transparent.

Materials such as acrylic and polycarbonate can be used in the production process of the case. This raw material is characterized by high strength, reliability and long service life.

Dimensional parameters of lighting

LED lamps, regardless of the type of bulb and internal components, have standardized dimensional parameters. In addition, the type of installation of the product is determined from the dimensions.

An analogue of a fluorescent lamp produces a powerful luminous flux and consumes electricity, depending on the dimensions of the lighting equipment. Each manufacturing company has individual standards that differ significantly.

Table with indicative parameters of the LED lamp.

600 mm T8 g13 880-1100 LM 10 watts
900 mm T8 g13 1200-1300 LM 13 watts
1200 mm T8 g13 1450-1900 LM 15-18 watts
1500 mm T8 g13 2030-2365 LM 23-24 watts

The value of the color power can vary based on the type of lighting technology:

  1. 2700-3500 K (Kelvin) - a product that produces white light with a warm shade;
  2. 3500-4500K - white standard lighting;
  3. Above 4,500K - cold light with a light blue, slightly noticeable shade.

The most requested modification is the standard white light device. Its power indicator is considered the best option which does not have a strong effect on the eyes.

If you need to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in the room, you should give preference to the first option, which has a warm shade.

Connecting a T8 LED lamp

The connection diagram of diode installations in fluorescent lamps is considered to be quite easy, not requiring certain experience and labor. However, you should first carefully study the instructions for step-by-step installation, since there may be several installation options.

To simplify the reconstruction of fluorescent elements on a T8 LED lamp, manufacturers equip a base of this element the same dimensions - G13. The mounting system is fully consistent with the installation of conventional luminous parts.

To connect, you need to remove the starter from the fluorescent device and reduce the inductor, thereby providing a direct voltage flow to the tubular diode.

Lamps of the T8 series, have recently become in demand on technical market... The reason for this is an economical solution to the problem of replacing the luminescent part with an LED. At the same time, the base of the light source is not subject to modernization. LED lamp, according to the manufacturer, can last from 50,000 to 100,000 hours, which equals 20 years.

However, as evidenced by the statistics of household use of the device, the service life reaches given value in very rare cases. This is justified by the purchase of low-quality LED parts. The operating limit of such devices is 3-4 years of intensive use.

In order not to make a mistake in choosing and buy a good product, you should pay attention to more expensive models from well-known companies. In addition, you need to determine for yourself the most optimal indicators of the following technical characteristics:

  • Light power

In the case of replacing a fluorescent lamp with a 1200 mm T8 LED lamp, the price of which depends on the luminous power, you must first determine the color scheme. A product that reproduces brighter light is more expensive because it has high energy efficiency diodes built into it.

  • Ripple value

The indicator has a direct impact on human health. The coefficient should not be more than 1%, however, state standards suggest limit limits significantly exceeding this number - up to 5%. Equipment with the second designation is strictly prohibited to use in rooms where users spend a lot of time at the computer.

  • Colour temperature

As mentioned earlier, warm shades of rays create a cozy atmosphere, cold ones - they progress to a working mood, encouraging.

T8 LED lamp connection diagram

To change the fluorescent lamp in the luminaire for an LED T8, remove the starter (the choke remains in the same place) and install a new lamp. In this case, the sockets of the cartridge remain as they are, because they are suitable for these lamps according to the standard.

Important: do not forget to disconnect the mains voltage before starting work!

Wiring diagram for LED lamps in T8 housing

Wiring diagrams for LED lamps in the T8 case

When replacing fluorescent lamps with LED ones, it is necessary to remove the starters and either short-circuit the transformers. or completely remove them. If previously installed electromagnetic ballasts (any modification) or high-frequency electromagnetic ballasts (any modification), they must be removed together with the starters.

The output contacts of the lamps on one side are closed. Therefore, it does not matter which contact is energized.

Connection diagram with diode lamps with a rated voltage of 220V:

Changing fluorescent lamps to T8 G13 LED lamps

Replacing T8 fluorescent lamps with T8 LED lamps (recently often heard "LED tubes") is quite simple.

Externally, the connection of T8 fluorescent lamps, or as they are also called G13 T8, is no different from the connection of T8 LED lamps, or rather not even the connection, but the installation process itself. The fluorescent lamp was taken out, the LED lamp was inserted.

The peculiarity of the installation is that for operation, T8 LED tubes do not require a ballast, or, more simply, it must be directly connected to the 220V power supply network like a regular light bulb, while the power supply of fluorescent lamps at the time of start-up requires a starter and a choke.

Therefore, in the luminaire itself, in which the t8 LED lamps will be installed, the circuit for switching on the fluorescent lamp must be changed, that is, it is necessary to rewire the wires from the mains directly to the sockets into which the G13 base is inserted, bypassing the ballast (starter and choke).

It is quite obvious that it is most convenient to carry out these works with the lamp removed, on the assembly table. Before starting work where the T8 G13 lamp will be replaced To comply with safety precautions, disconnect the power supply to the luminaire in which the fluorescent lamp will be replaced. To do this, simply turning off the switch is not enough, since it can completely accidentally be turned on by unauthorized persons during the replacement work.

Replacing the T8 G13 fluorescent tube

To install the T8 G13 LED tube in place of the T8 fluorescent lamp, you must perform the following work: disconnect the wires from the starter; disconnect the wires from the choke; connect the wires from the mains to the G13 socket, i.e. apply 220V voltage to the lamp directly, as shown in the figure.

At the same time, it is not necessary to completely dismantle the starter and the choke - the lamps last 50 thousand hours for 7-8 years, and in the event of a change of office or premises, the lamps can be restored to work with fluorescent lamps, and T8 LED tubes can be used in a new place.

Additional Information

T8 LED lamps are used in all luminaires that use T8 G13 fluorescent lamps with a length of 600 mm, 1200 mm, 1500 mm and an energy consumption of 18W, 36W, 58W.

The luminaire in which the T8 fluorescent lamp is installed consumes more, since there is a loss on the ballast. If the luminaire uses an electromagnetic ballast, then the actual consumption of the luminaire is about 20% more than the consumption of the indicated consumption on the fluorescent lamp, if the ballast is electronic, then the consumption of the luminaire is about 8% more than the consumption of the indicated consumption on the fluorescent lamp. Advantages of T8 LED tubes No ballast required (starters, ballasts and other ballasts) does not contain mercury, therefore it does not require disposal (disposal of fluorescent lamps is quite an expensive procedure) LED lamp power consumption is 2 times less than fluorescent lamps LED T8 lamps do not flicker and do not tire the eyes a lamp with a T8 LED lamp does not buzz with a service life of about 50,000 hours (versus 5-8 thousand hours for a fluorescent lamp).

T8 LED lamp

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

Are a complete replacement luminous flux of T8 fluorescent lamps in a raster lamp.

Electricity savings of 50% compared to fluorescent lamps.

SPECIAL TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES

The most important factor for lamp longevity is good heat dissipation from the LED chips. In addition to the main heatsink, the Maxus LED lamp has an additional fin for heat dissipation. Due to this, the heat dissipation from the mounting plate is carried out through 3 points.

The LED chips are mounted on a double-sided printed circuit board and when using a special material of increased density, which also contributes to high-quality heat dissipation.

Modular board system

No soldering is used to connect parts of the lamp circuit board. All parts are connected using special gold-plated connectors. This view connection ensures the reliability and durability of the lamp.

The driver uses modern microcircuits, which allow minimizing the size and abandoning the use of a high-voltage electrolytic capacitor. As a result, the PF value of 0.93 is reached, there are no current surges when the lighting is turned on. The highly efficient DNC filter completely eliminates electrical noise.

The driver is built according to the scheme of a galvanically isolated pulse-width modulator (PWM), a current stabilizer with feedback, which allows high accuracy to maintain a stable current on LED chips in a wide range of supply voltage 175-275 V.

The PWM is designed for a maximum load of 35 W, so that even when working under significant load, an optimal temperature regime.

WIDE LIGHT CURVE

Ogonyok T8-600 LED tubes

For effective replacement of outdated lamps, analogue of 18 W fluorescent lamp. These LED lamps have standard size and are suitable for any lighting fixture. In addition to low power consumption (6.5 W), the tubes are flicker-free, so they are eye-safe. The lamps are made of shock-resistant, safe materials, they cannot be accidentally broken or injured.

When switched on, the temperature of the tubes is only a few degrees higher than the ambient temperature, so it is impossible to burn yourself with them. In the event of a sudden voltage drop, the tubes will continue to work. All of the above characteristics allow these lamps to be used in a variety of conditions, even those close to extreme.

Advantages:

  • energy savings compared to fluorescent lamps
  • no pulsations harmful to the eyes
  • does not need special disposal
  • does not beat
  • Does not heat up, does not burn
  • does not contain mercury and other harmful substances
  • resistant to temperature and voltage changes.

Specifications:

T8 LED tubes are becoming more affordable every year. For new construction, it is possible to use ready-made lamps with T8 LED tubes, and during reconstruction it is possible to modernize existing fluorescent ones.

In one of the last articles, I considered the economic effect of replacing fluorescent lamps with T8 LED tubes. Let's take a look at how LED tubes are connected.

To simplify the replacement of T8 fluorescent lamps with T8 LED tubes, manufacturers made the LED tubes the same base (G13) as the fluorescent ones, although only 2 contacts are required to turn on the LED tubes, not 4.

Seals, security holograms, documents, everything is in perfect condition. Additional equipment: timers for automatic meter control, 63A machines in a 25A case, additional consoles.

NaPulte.com - remote control meters.

The connection diagram for T8 LED tubes is very simple and does not differ in any way from the connection diagram for a conventional incandescent lamp.

T8 LED tube connection diagram

To turn on the LED tube, it is enough to apply voltage to the lamp without using any additional devices. Unlike a fluorescent lamp, an LED lamp does not require ballasts.

If you have fluorescent lamps with T8 lamps, then after a small upgrade, these lamps can be operated with LED tubes.

The connection diagram for T8 LED tubes instead of fluorescent lamps is presented below:

Connection diagram for T8 LED tubes instead of fluorescent lamps

It is necessary to remove the starter from the existing fluorescent lamp and short-circuit the throttle, i.e. it is required to supply voltage directly to the LED lamp.

At any time, it is possible to make a reverse modernization and use the same fluorescent lamps, without resorting to significant financial costs.
