They say you have to grow up to Sennheiser. To appreciate the sound. And to, corny, afford to buy headphones for the price of the iPhone 7 Plus with 128 GB. Plus, most of the Sennheiser catalog are frankly "home" headphones, which for complete buzz should be used in complete silence and tranquility. Even the 6.3 mm plug hints that this is by no means headphones for an iPhone, since you cannot understand at first glance.

Sennheiser also has travel headphones, both with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. not all about old school and "The Real Audiophile's Guide". But usually when the word "Sennheiser" is presented epic headphones for 50 thousand euros, which the company rolled out in 2015 (you didn't hear: 50 thousand euros, for the headphones).

Why? Yes, there are many reasons. Because the brand is over 70 years old, because it is from Germany, because it is always of high quality, even if the price of the model is too high, because some Sennheiser headphones are completely assembled by hand (and not somewhere in St. Petersburg, but in the Saxon Wedemark) because some models take years and many man-hours to develop. And because Sennheiser is almost always a sound close to ideal, and in some cases even a reference sound.

In fact, the company's catalog contains both penny "plugs" and luxury headphones with a headrest, the ear cushions of which cover the entire ear. Does it mean that you can expect high quality from the first and the second? How is the brand doing with the small format and, most importantly, is it worth paying so much money for the best Sennheiser vacuum headphones?

Sennheiser in-ear headphones: which are the best to buy

Sennheiser in-ear headphones are available in several series. For example, the more popular - CX and professional - IE (in 2004 the company released the IE 4 headphones, received rave reviews, and a year later began to sell a simplified version of them - the Sennheiser CX 300).

Sports models are marked with the Sports marker. So, at CES 2015, Sennheiser presented 4 waterproof models with a striking design, microphone and remote control - we are talking about MX 686 SPORTS, CX 686 SPORTS, PMX 686 SPORTS and OCX 686 SPORTS.

Separately, there are headphones from the Sennheiser Momentum IE (In-Ear) line. By the way, Sennheiser iPhone headphones are marked with the characteristic “i” index: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 In-Ear (M2 IEG) - for all devices, Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 In-Ear (M2 IEi) - headphones for iPhones.

Many of the company's headphones have "doublers" - Sennheiser likes to release slightly modified or slightly modified externally headphones and assign indexes II, III to the former name (depending on the number of re-releases). Or add Street / Sports markers to the old models. There is no chaos in the Sennheiser headphone catalog, but there is an abundance of models.

Very generalizing if you need something in between high quality and sane value, we are looking at the CX-series. We are ready to pay up to several hundred dollars for earphones and you know what you are doing - take IE.

Now let's take a closer look at where the price difference comes from and whether Sennheiser is equally good at doing budget models and high class.

Price / quality or Sennheiser headphones in the entry and middle price range

Let's start simple. - these closed headphones are years and years old, but for their money they are worthy of attention today. The frequency range of the model is 17 - 22,000 Hz, the bass sounds more detailed than in the younger 300th model. With these headphones, you can hear not only a banging rhythm, but even recognize the type of percussion instruments. Low frequencies are good here, with mids and highs slightly worse. In terms of sound and price, they can be compared with Sony MDR-EX85 and Sony MDR-EX300. Suitable for uncomplicated everyday use.

For travel and work in the office, from the recently released, you can take - headphones with active noise canceling (Noise Guard Digital). Mistake "travel" for banal movement around the city or many hours of flights, but do not confuse it with playing sports - these headphones are not intended for use during workouts. Sennheiser CXC 700 induce sound vibrations from 20 to 21000 Hz, the sound intensity is shifted towards low frequencies. The current generation loves banal music with beats. Therefore, the displacement towards the low frequencies is only on hand. The mids and highs are less expressive. By the way, about the music being listened to: this model copes with "live" music worse than the same SONY XBA-H3 - the sound there is warm, without dominance of bass, the midrange and treble sound equally good, which is not in the CXC 700.

The Sennheiser CXC 700 are equipped according to the purpose - there is an adapter for two sockets (this is often found in airplanes on the handles of seats), the shape of the headphones and nozzles contributes to complete isolation from external sounds. The Noise Guard Digital noise cancellation function is activated using a controller on the cord (it has a metal clip - for attaching to the seat pocket in front of you, for example). The controller has a noise suppression knob - for listening in a small airplane; a Boeing operating an inter-Atlantic flight; or an ordinary office - with a lot of employees, computers and air conditioners.

Premium headphones now cost several times less than at the start. If you still want to maintain mobility, but at the same time not lose sound quality, pay attention to them.

The first plus of the model is its construction. A worn or damaged cable can be replaced after several years of wear - it can be disconnected from the speakers on the headphones without requiring special tools. These headphones have a "soft" loop design, i.e. the cable will follow the shape of the ear if you decide to throw it over the auricle, but at the same time plastic arches, forcing you to wear the headphones only this way and in any other way, are also included in the kit. But they are removable.

A screw on the outside of the speakers allows you to adjust the bass as you like (the adjustment tool is included, it is two-sided - the other side is for cleaning the headphones).

The earbud determines not only how well the in-ear earphone fits in your ear, but also how good it will sound. Four types of adapters in several sizes, including adapters for advanced "listeners" - with two degrees of different diameters. This shape will accentuate the sound and make it rich. This does not mean that for the best result you only need to wear them - no, you need to try everything in order to understand with which attachments the Sennheiser IE 80 headphones are more comfortable to wear and more interesting to listen to.

Sennheiser audiophile headphones: IE 800

IE 800 Sennheiser - best headphones plugs, although at a cost of 44 thousand rubles "plugs" language will not turn to call them. These are the most expensive headphones in the compact series.

The fact that the price is more than $ 400 does not mean that the entire IE series is straightso muchfor professionals. In fact, before the IE 800, Sennheiser's IE-series in-ear headphones were several times cheaper.

Sennheiser IE 800 is the continuation of the IE 8 and IE 80 line. more fakes, after which Sennheiser temporarily abandoned the compact format. Why?

Because it released the reference Sennheiser HD 800 (so far the best Sennheiser headphones) with an exorbitant price tag and exorbitant sound - where should you pay attention to a small format if there is so much glory around! This is about the HD 800, we said above "assembled from and to by hand."

Sennheiser IE 800 became the flagship in the compact line, and the price, at the start of sales was under $ 1000, was mercilessly criticized - in the same budget, you could buy headphones based on multi-driver fittings (there would still be change) or order custom in-channel monitors. Does it make sense to buy?

Yes, if you are not going to listen to them on the go, in the cold and from your iPhone. Plus, the Sennheiser IE 800 price has dropped to an acceptable level today.

The production of Sennheiser headphones began in 1968. Since then, the brand has tirelessly perfected its audio technology, following the tradition of quality and developing the latest technology.

A distinctive feature of the company's models is a clear reproduction of low frequencies, which attracts fans of modern music, in which numerous basses prevail. The open outer bowl of the devices allows you to fully immerse yourself in the music. The noise canceling technology NoiseGard, which recognizes and neutralizes noise, replacing the negative signal with a positive one, allows several times to improve the sound quality.

Sinheiser headphones are sleek, lightweight and miniature, which is why they can be worn on your head for hours without any discomfort. Brand connoisseurs are pleased with the wide the lineup accessories.
