Dictaphone ritmix rr 650 microphone specifications. Appearance, materials, controls, assembly

- June 24, 2014

The device is contradictory. It is missing desired system automatic adjustment of the audio level while recording as such. To record sound at normal volume, you need to speak loudly in front of this microphone at a distance of 5-10 cm. Distant sounds, such as the lecturer's speech, are recorded quietly. The situation can be improved by normalizing the files on the PC. The device has 2 levels of recording quality - HQ and LQ. In HQ, the measured sampling rate is 32kHz, the upper frequency of the recorded sound is 14kHz, the recording format is mp3. If you speak into a dictaphone, like into a microphone, point-blank, the recording is very clean and high-quality. In LQ mode, it writes in a strange REC format, when checked, it turned out to be highly compressed WAV with a sampling rate of 8kHz, the upper frequency of the recorded sound is less than 4kHz, the quality is terrible, this dull sound is squelching in some places. The voice recording activation system practically does not work. Sound quality and volume can be improved by connecting an external microphone, and this is a plus. In this case, the internal microphone does not turn off completely, it writes sound quietly in parallel. The mechanical activation of the recording mode is convenient, it starts writing 6 seconds after turning on REC, after another 27 seconds the display goes out to save battery. The display has a pleasant gray-blue backlight, on the right side it is illuminated by an LED, the size of the display segments is as in wrist watch... Mp3 music files are seen only from the root of the internal 4GB memory, the folder is not identified. Navigating through them by brute force. The sound on high-quality headphones is clear, there are both low and high frequencies. The sound on the built-in speaker is quite loud, with good mids and highs, and a complete lack of lows. The set includes its own headphones and a splitter for a wired landline phone for recording conversations, there is no power adapter. The battery capacity of the device is 180 mAh, which is enough for 7.5 hours of recording. The recorder has a full-size USB plug.

Advantages:

Compactness, light weight, Soft Touch case cover. Good stereo sound to headphones from ready-made mp3 files. Vocal speaker with crisp high frequencies. Microphone input for recording. Mechanical switching on with slide switches for power mode and recording mode.

Disadvantages:

Some of the declared functions practically do not work. Low sensitivity of the built-in microphone. Mono microphone input. The operation algorithm of the side rocker buttons is made the opposite of the usual one - the up button is quieter, the down button is louder. The cap for the USB plug is a little slack.

Use period:

less than a month

Bought for recording telephone conversations... It copes with this task on a four, because switching on takes a significant amount of time - you have to pick up the phone with a delay. The recordings themselves are quite quiet, but very clear, the microphone is good. I wrote it down for half an hour or longer. Sometimes I forget to turn off the recording (no or did not find an automatic on / off switch). I charge it once a week, without turning it off, in general (it goes into economy mode itself). A strange solution with sliders instead of buttons is inconvenient. The only thing that helps is that with correctly set sliders, recording can be turned on with one button

    Advantages:

Small, holds a charge for a long time, clear keystrokes (everything can be done by touch), connects to your home phone. Records without noise

    Disadvantages:

All recordings are quiet, long activation.

    Use period:

    less than a month

In principle, I'm happy with everything. The device is pleasant and comfortable to use, and the low price covers all the disadvantages.

    Advantages:

Simple, small, inexpensive, compact. The coating is pleasant to the touch, comfortable to hold in your hand.

    Disadvantages:

Turns on for a long time, inconvenient buttons.

  • Android is penetrating more and more different niches, and e-books are no exception. To be honest, the main reason I took the RBK-650 for the test is to see what Android is like in e-books and how manufacturers are adapting it for them.

    Equipment

    • Electronic book
    • Charger
    • PC cable (also part of charger)
    • Case book
    • Coupon for ten books in liters

An excellent package for a budget device. Here you have both a case and a separate charger.

    Appearance, materials, controls, assembly

Externally RBK-650 looks like a regular electronic book... She has a calm design without any flashy or catchy elements. The body of the book is made of soft-touch matte plastic.

On the front side there are paging buttons, and below them are the Back and Home keys

Above you can see the power button, and on the left - the volume rocker.

Below is a microUSB connector, a microSD card slot, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a hole for ejecting a book.

On the back there was a place for a single speaker. Its volume is not great, but at least it is there at all.

There are no complaints about the assembly, the device is perfectly assembled.

    Overall dimensions

Before us is a typical six-inch book. It is slightly thicker (the numbers seem to say the opposite) of devices such as the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, but otherwise the dimensions are similar.

    • Ritmix RBK-650 - 161x126.5x9 mm, weight 225 grams
    • Kindle Paperwhite - 169x117x9 mm, weight 213 grams
    • Pocketbook Basic New - 176x123x10 mm, weight 180 grams

    Screen

Screen diagonal - 6 inches, resolution - 800x600 pixels, E-Ink display is used.

The resolution and screen type are standard for this kind of devices, and everything would be fine, only Android is installed in the RBK-650, which requires touch input. As far as I understand, one of two touch implementations can be used. The first is resistive, it has a worse response to pressing, but it perceives the stylus and other objects. The second is a capacitive one, which is used in the latest Kindle Paperwhite and Pocketbook Touch 2.

Unfortunately, the Ritmix RBK-650 uses resistive technology. Above the screen is a thin touch layer that processes pressing. The main problem with this solution is that the touch layer is glare.

And after all, we are, for a minute, talking about an e-book, whose main advantage is the absence of glare. Another drawback is the low sensitivity of the touch layer, you have not to touch, but to press hard on the screen so that it will process the press.

    Shell and Android

The manufacturer claims that the e-reader is running Android 2.2. It is logical that the user expects to see either standard desktops or a read-optimized shell on the device.

The RBK-650 does indeed have its own shell. It divides the screen into three parts. In the upper half there is a list of read books, as well as a preview of the last opened book. The lower part is reserved for a list of all books on the device.

The status bar displays on-screen buttons typical of Android. Pressing the "Menu" key takes you to the list of applications. It has a music player, web browser and file manager, among other things.

The settings are as similar as possible to those for regular Android.

Now let's move on to another significant drawback of the RBK-650. You cannot install any third-party applications on the reader. This minus negates itself android availability in this book.

    Autonomous work

Fixed in the book lithium ion battery capacity of 1800 mAh. For e-books, this is the standard capacity. However, it's important to remember that Android 2.2 is installed here, so there is one caveat. I don't know what exactly this is connected with, but in standby mode, the book is discharged in literally a few hours.

    Work with text

The book supports all major formats, among them are: PDF, FB2, TXT, ePub, MOBI, HTML, PDB, RTF, LRC.

You can change the font size, the size of the fields, use the search by words, and also use the table of contents (provided that there is one). In general, there are no complaints about working with the text directly.

    Conclusion

Firstly, it is a glare sensory layer, because of which it is inconvenient to read from a book in sunny weather, but here I will attribute weak responsiveness to pressing. Secondly, the impossibility of installing third party applicationsdespite having Android 2.2 on board. And third, the low time autonomous work... This e-book by cons is more like a cheap chinese tabletrather than a reading device.

The device also has pluses: excellent body materials, separate paging buttons, rich bundle and great support for book formats.

Unfortunately, these advantages do not cover the disadvantages described above, so I cannot recommend RBK-650 for purchase. Most likely, similar problems are common to all budget books with Android on board, so I recommend looking towards other solutions.

For 3-4 thousand rubles, you can find Amazon Kindle 5, which has a much smaller number of supported formats and worse equipment, but there are no software problems.

Another good option is the Ritmix RBK-620. Support for formats and a rich bundle remained with it, but a nightmare touch screen and Android are missing.

This kid, weighing 30-35 grams and measuring 25x91x12 mm, has served me faithfully for almost two years!

Was purchased in September 2014 at a price significantly lower than the current one. It's strange that outwardly the model has not changed (only judging by some photos, the recording button has changed from red to metallic), perhaps the functionality has been expanded? And, yes, a model with the same name was added, but large quantity memory. But I had 4GB, the price was then about 1190 rubles.

True, because of its diminutiveness, I sometimes lost it, not just in a bag, even in a jeans pocket. But such misunderstandings were rare (the last time it became critical ...) - I tried to put it in a small cosmetic bag, in which the lapel microphone still lived, flash drive, SD-card for camera.

The battery lasted for quite a long time. The quality of the recording suited me, there were, of course, cases when I barely made it out. But I keep the habit of taking notes in a notebook, so I have never had any problems in my work because of poor writing. And I worked very hard for two weekly newspapers ...

The shoals were several times my fault - in a hurry I forgot to turn off the recording and turned off the recorder itself. Recording in this situation was not saved ... But if the battery runs out and the recorder turns off itself, the recording is saved.

Here, perhaps, one small drawback - not a very convenient record button. But you quickly get used to it.

The volume of 4 GB was also more than enough. Despite the fact that I used a voice recorder as a player, it had a couple of hundred songs for jogging.

Sometimes I connected the radio in the car to the USb connector - I sang without problems.

Another significant plus: there is a USB connector, you plug it directly into the port and charge or transfer files. No additional wires are needed. This is essential for me.

The lid covering the connector was tight and never came off.

I have heard compliments from my colleagues about this. And if I return to the ranks of journalists again, then, most likely, I will again look at this particular model.

How did he die? Not myself ... I washed my jacket in my pocket. I washed it desperately - soaked it for several hours, and then rolled it in the washing machine ... He himself would certainly not have rushed to the next world so soon ...
