How to change ringtone on Huawei phone. How to change ringtone or notification on Android device

We continue to study the Android operating system. If you constantly read my magazine, then you probably remember that the last time I talked about. Today I want to talk about how to download ringtones to a smartphone and put them on calls. By the way, this is very simple to do.

Method one

So, let's imagine that you have a certain list of songs, one of which you really like and you would like to install it on the call. To do this, you must go to the player, select the desired song, then go to the "Settings" and select the "Put on call" item, as shown in the screenshot.

Actually, that's all. Now for any incoming call this very favorite song will play on your phone.

Method two

In order to put a ringtone on a specific subscriber from your notebook, you need to go to the notebook itself. For example, my friend Alexander - I choose his number, go to the menu and click on the item "Set ringtone".

After that, a choice appears between the multimedia storage (ready-made ringtones are stored there) and the conductor.

If you are interested in a standard Android ringtone, then select the multimedia storage, and if a certain song, then the explorer, in which one of the folders (usually sdcard / Music) contains music.

Method three

If you are interested in ready-made ringtones, and not songs that often sound not at all the way you would like, you can cut the ringtone yourself, or simply download it from some thematic site.

After the ringtone is ready, just download it to your phone in the Ringtones folder or any other. Then set it as a general signal through the sound settings or put on a specific subscriber that is in your notebook in the way indicated above.

Method four

There is special applications that already contain a list of specific ringtones. There are also those that allow you to trim ringtones directly from your phone. There are a lot of them, but I don’t use them corny, so I cannot say which of the applications is better and which is worse.

I have a Nokia 610 and I can’t put my ringtone on my calls. Help

Answer from Knop[guru]
Standard melody: settings - profiles - your profile - options - customize - sounds - SIM call - select melody - ok
User ringtone: settings - profiles - your profile - options - settings - sounds - SIM call - empty - options - set - select a ringtone - options - enable
The user can put melodies only in the "empty" items. Factory tunes cannot be deleted.
Setting a melody for a specific subscriber: select a contact - enter the editing mode - melody - select a melody - ok
The contact must be entered into the phone memory, not the SIM card. For how to add a user ringtone to the list, see User Ringtone.

For users who are unfamiliar with Android system at all, its interface may seem rather strange and complex. Even something as small as a ringtone in this operating system installed a little differently than others. If you are trying in vain to call your own melody, then it is better to refer to this article. Here you will find detailed and visual instruction on setting various melodies as a ringtone on the Android OS.

How to set a ringtone on Android through settings

The developers did not ignore this option - it is in your phone, as in all others, it is simply difficult to notice it if you do not search purposefully. First, you need to download the desired melody to your phone or its segment, from which the call will begin. In addition, you can set a ringtone from cloud storage OneDrive and Google Drive.

  • Go to the phone settings by clicking on the gear icon in the device tray. To open the tray, just swipe down from the top of the screen.
  • Find the item "Sound and vibration". This is where all the settings for your ringtone and message alert are located.

  • Among all the phone options, click on “Ringtone”.

You will see two sections:

  • Incoming calls, that is, your ringtone.
  • Notifications are a signal of messages.

Click on the "Ringtone" item to set the ringtone. Below this option, you will see the name of the current audio recording that is currently installed.

You will see a long list of songs that are set in the smartphone by default. You can delete them through the app at Samsung computer Kies if they get in your way and clog up the space.

Scroll through the list until it stops until you see the line “From device memory”. Click on it.

A selection window will pop up below:

  • Load melody from Google drive you can click on the first icon.
  • The second item “Sound selection” opens the audio of the phone. In this article, this option will be taken as an example.
  • The latter “OneDrive” method also applies to cloud storage.

  • Now, among all your audio recordings on your phone, select the one you want by simply tapping on it with your finger. The melody will automatically go to the ringtone list and become your ringtone. You will no longer hear standard audio on an incoming call.

How to put a ringtone on Android in the player

There is another way to set a ringtone for a call directly from the phone player. If it is more convenient for you to listen to audio and choose the best from them, then this method is very useful.

  • Go to the smartphone menu and find the “My files” folder. All your photos, videos, audio recordings and documents are located here.

  • Go to the item "Audio" by clicking on it with your finger. Please note that you can also use the repository here if you go to the bottommost field. From there, setting audio as ringtone is just as easy.

  • Choose any song to listen to and just open it in the player. In the process, you need to click on the three dots in the upper right corner. In the pop-up list, select the item "Set as a ringtone". Your ringtone will change to this audio recording.

Dozens of standard ringtones are available on smartphones. Depending on the manufacturer of the device and the version of Android installed on it, these ringtones differ. The user can set any of them, or put his own melody on the call, having previously loaded the song into the phone's memory.

If you are a beginner and need help installing a ringtone, then you've come to the right place. In this article, you will learn how to set a ringtone in three ways: through the "Settings", using the file manager and the music player.

Other instructions on the site tell you how to put your melody on, and.

Choosing a default ringtone on Android

To change one preset melody to another, first open "Settings" and go to the "Sound" section (in some firmware the item is called "Sounds and notifications", in MIUI on smartphones Xiaomi- "Sound and vibration", in EMUI on Huawei and Honor phones - "Sounds"). There is also the volume of the call, alarm clock and multimedia.

On old Android versions in addition, you will have to open the sound profile settings - for this, click on the gear icon.

On new firmwares, a menu will immediately open where the "Ringtone" item is located (in EMUI - "Call melody"). Click on it.

If the "Run with an application" message appears, select "Media Storage" and click "Just Now". The audio list will open. To listen to a melody, click on it, and to set it as a ringtone, click "OK".

In MIUI and EMUI, to select a melody, just click on it and go back to the menu of the "Sound and vibration" and "Sounds" sections, respectively.

Setting your ringtone through settings and file manager

To put your favorite song on a call, first download it to your phone memory or SD card. If you download audio using mobile browser, the file is saved in the device's internal memory. And in order to transfer the audio track on the computer to the smartphone, connect the device to the PC via USB, selecting the "File transfer" mode, and using Windows Explorer move the file to your phone.

Now by clicking on the "Ringtone" item located in the "Sound" section, select file manager and using it, go to the folder with the downloaded track. To put this track on a call, click on it. Done - the new ringtone is installed.

On smartphones Xiaomi and Redmi

On Xiaomi, this is done like this: open "Settings" → "Sound and vibration" → "Ringtone" and at the top, click "Select a melody on the device." In MIUI, you can put your track on an incoming call using the file manager, as well as the Audio and Music applications. To select a song using two recent programs, put a tick in the checkbox opposite the desired track and click "OK".

On smartphones Huawei and Honor

Go to "Settings" → "Sounds" (or in the Phone application, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and click on the "Settings" item in the menu that opens) and select "Call melody" for the desired SIM card. The “Select sound” page will open, where you can change the ringtone to one of the preset ones or proceed to install the downloaded song or video melody.

To install the downloaded track, open the item "Music on the device", click on the song that you want to put on a call, and click the "Back" button.

On Huawei and Honor phones running EMUI 9 and newer, you can install video melodies as a ringtone. On the "Select Sound" page, click on the "Video Tones" item and then select the video that you want to install on the call. A preview window will open. So that when a call comes in, the video is displayed on Full Screen, the roller must be vertical. Click on the checkmark in the lower right corner and the video melody will be installed.

On Android 8 Oreo and Android 9 Pie

On latest versions Android, to add the downloaded song to the ringtone list, open "Sound" → "Ringtone" → "Media storage", go down to the end and click "Add ringtone", after which the built-in file manager will open. Using Explorer, go to the folder with the downloaded audio file and click on it. The track will be added to the list of ringtones and will be available for installation.

How to set a ringtone by adding it to the "Ringtones" folder

If the firmware does not support the installation of custom melodies, then you will have to use the file manager to create the “Ringtones” folder and load the tracks into it. After that, the melodies will start to be displayed in the list of ringtones in the settings, from where they can be set.

To implement the plan, you will need a built-in or third-party, for example, Solid Explorer. Go into it and create a folder "Ringtones" in the internal memory - in Solid Explorer, click on the "+" button, select " new folder", Enter" Ringtones "and click" OK ".

Now move the song you want to the created "Ringtones" folder. If you are using Solid Explorer, hold your finger on the track, then in the options bar select "Copy" (the second icon from the left), go to the "Ringtones" folder and click "Paste".

The melody will be added to the list of standard ringtones. To put it on a call, go to Settings → Sound → Ringtone → Media Storage, find the song, select it and click OK.

The second method is also available: using the same file manager, create a folder "media", in it a folder "audio", and in it - a folder "ringtones" (all three with a small letter). Load the melody into “ringtones” and then select it from the settings menu.

We put the song on a call through the music player on the phone

In the majority there is an option thanks to which you can set the track you like to the call. How to do this using different players is shown in the video:

Then open the folder with the desired track and click on the three dots next to it. In the list of options, select "Put on call".

Download the ringtone maker app. There are many free apps allowing you to edit the MP3 file and set it as your ringtone. With this application, you can create an audio file that suits you, without using a computer for editing and then transferring it to your phone. You need an MP3 file that you want to turn into a ringtone stored on your device.

  • Ringdroid and Ringtone maker are the two most popular applications for these purposes, although they are not the only ones and there are hundreds of similar applications. Both of the above applications can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. This tutorial will cover working with Ringtone Maker, but the process is very similar for its counterparts.
  • You can also use these apps to create a notification ringtone. The process is similar.

Take the MP3 file from which you want to make a ringtone. The applications we use will allow you to edit the MP3 file and set it as your ringtone. It's a good idea to cut just the right place from the song, rather than listening to it from the beginning. To edit an MP3 file, you need to place it on your Android device. There are several ways to transfer to your phone:

  • You can download the MP3 file directly to your device if you have the appropriate link.
  • You can transfer MP3 files located on your computer by connecting your Android device to it and copying them to the Music folder. Or use a service like Dropbox for this purpose, which allows you to upload a file from your computer straight to your device's memory.
  • MP3 files purchased from Google Play or Amazon need to be downloaded to your computer before being downloaded to your Android device.
  • Start just now installed program to create a ringtone. You will see a list of ringtones and all audio files that Ringtone Maker finds in standard folders... An MP3 file located in standard folders (Downloads, Notifications, Music) will be displayed in this list. Otherwise, you will have to find the required folder yourself.

Press the Menu (⋮) button and select "View." A window will open to navigate through the folders on your device, in which you need to find the desired MP3 file.

Find the MP3 file that you want to make your ringtone. As you navigate through the folders, find the MP3 file you are interested in. The file you just downloaded from the website should be looked up in the Downloads folder. When transferring a file from your computer, you need to find it in the folder where you copied it (usually Music or Ringtones).

Click on the MP3 file to open it. The song will be displayed as a wave and the controls / edit controls. Do not worry about original file during editing, as the changes will not affect it.

Set the Start and End points. Once the song is loaded into the editor, you will see two sliders on the waveform. Click and drag these sliders to the start and end points of the desired melody. On different devices the time interval of the cyclic recurrence of the melody when an incoming call arrives differs, but usually it is 30 seconds.

    • Press the "Play" button every time you want to listen to the resulting melody. You can use the tool to fine tune the track size stops by pressing the "+" and "-" buttons to do this.
    • If you are making not a ringtone, but a notification ringtone, then in this case it is necessary to take into account that it should be much shorter.
  • Add fade in and fade out effects (optional). In Ringtone Maker, you can add a fade-out ringtone effect that you can find by pressing the Menu (⋮) button. Use the drop-down menu to select the fade-in or fade-out duration.
