3 GETTING STARTED Carefully, observing the polarity, insert two AAA batteries into the special compartment. Alkaline batteries are recommended. Remember to change the batteries at least once a year. Set up your remote to work with the devices you want. There are several ways to do this. After saving the code, turn on your device, for example a TV set, switch the remote control to TV control mode using the “TV” button and check the functioning of all buttons on the universal remote control. If some of the buttons don't work as expected, try using a different code. If this did not help or it was not possible to find the device code at all, you can teach the buttons of the universal remote control using the original remote control using the learning function. MANUAL CODE ENTRY Find the brand of your device in the list of brands in the table. Each brand of device has one or more four-digit codes. Press and hold the desired device selection button, for example "TV". After 3 seconds, when the indicator light comes on, release the button. Enter your four-digit device code. As each digit is entered, the indicator lamp blinks and after entering the fourth digit will go out, and the code will be stored in the remote control memory. If the code you entered is incorrect, the lamp will blink twice and will continue to burn until you enter the correct code. SEQUENTIAL SEQUENCE OF THE CODE MANUALLY Press and hold the desired device selection button, for example, "TV". After 3 seconds, when the indicator light comes on, release the button. Turn on the TV and point the remote at it. To select a code, use the "CH +" or "CH-" buttons. Each time you press a button, the remote will send a power-off signal, iterating through the codes in ascending (“CH +”) or descending (“CH-”) order, respectively. The lamp blinks while the signal is being sent. When the correct code is found, your TV turns off. Press the "OK" button, the indicator lamp will go out and the code will be saved in the remote control. In some modifications of the remote controls, the enumeration can be performed using the "LEFT", "RIGHT" OR "VOL-", "VOL +" buttons, respectively. AUTOMATIC CODE SEARCH Switch on the device of your choice, for example, a TV set, and point the remote control at it. Press and hold the desired device selection button, for example "TV". After 3 seconds, when the indicator light comes on, release the button. Press and release the “POWER” button on the remote control. The keypad will start to send a power-off signal, iterating through the codes in ascending order every two seconds. The lamp blinks while the signal is being sent. When the TV turns off, press the "OK" button. The indicator lamp will go out and the device code will be stored in the remote control memory. Each time you start an automatic search, it starts from the last stored code. At the end of the cycle, the indicator lamp will go out and the search mode will be canceled. The duration of the search cycle can be up to 30 minutes. 3

4 SEARCH BY MANUFACTURER NAME USING NUMERIC KEYS. Find your device manufacturer from the list of Brands in the Numeric Keypad by Brand table. Each number button corresponds to one or several companies. In this mode, the search is carried out within the selected companies. Press and hold the desired device selection button, for example "TV". Then press and hold the numeric button "1" (in the table this number corresponds to and, and for "2" it is Panasonic and Hitachi, etc.). Recently I ran into a banal problem - the remote control of the Samsung LE-32S81B LCD TV died. More precisely, he did not die, some buttons just stopped working, as luck would have it, the most used ones are channel switching and volume. Disassembling the remote control and rubbing its insides with alcohol gave some effect, but only temporary - after 3 days, to switch channels, you had to press the button with all your might. Tired of it!

Puzzled by the purchase of a new remote control, I conducted a raid on online stores and realized that it would not be possible to buy the original remote control for less than 800 rubles. I went to the M-Video store, they offered me a non-original remote control for 900 rubles, for which they were sent along the fence to read the inscriptions, and during a visit to Auchan, a "good cheap" GAL LM-P003 remote control was purchased for 350 rubles and 2 AAA batteries for him.

The most interesting thing was ahead - setting up the GAL remote control to work correctly with the Samsung TV.

Complete with remote control included detailed instructions how to do it, it shows several methods - manual, automatic and semi-automatic. A separate piece of paper is a list of codes for different types equipment - a piece of paper almost the size of a TV, and filled on both sides - not less than 1000 codes! Fortunately, there is a grouping of codes by device type (TV, Audio, Video, DVD, etc.) and by manufacturer.

Automatic way consists in the fact that the remote control goes over all the codes from this table and gives the command to turn off (by default, the TV must be turned on). If the TV turns off, then the code has been picked up and you need to press the OK button within 2 seconds. I first started this method of selecting a code, but quickly realized that you can sit from morning to evening while he goes over all the codes. Moreover, you cannot leave the TV in order to have time to press the OK button. I don’t know to whom I recommend this method - perhaps to housewives or retirees who have a lot of free time :)

Manual way faster and more practical. In the section with codes, we are looking for the type of equipment and its manufacturer, in my case - TV / Samsung. In this section there will be about 40 four-digit codes. We proceed as follows, here is a step-by-step instruction:

1. Press the TV button on the remote control and hold it for 3 seconds, the indicator on the remote control lights up.

2. After that, enter the code in numbers, for example, 0064. The indicator goes out, the code is accepted.

3. To check, press the channel switch button. If the TV does not respond in any way, go back to step 1 and enter the following code. And so on until the TV responds to commands from the remote control.

I managed to enter a working code from about 20 attempts, the remote controlled the TV, but incorrectly - the channels were switched, the volume was adjusted, but the setup menu did not work - instead of going through the items (with the joystick), the channels were switched. I continued searching and found at least 5 more working combinations. The code 0565 turned out to be optimal for the Samsung LE-32S81B TV... All the functions are working - both the menu and teletext (although I do not use it) and other rarely used settings.

Let's summarize. The GAL-P003 remote control turned out to be quite a working and inexpensive replacement for the original remote control. About 15 minutes I had to tinker with reading the instructions and setting up the remote control. The range of the remote control is at least 5 meters (with fresh batteries).

In terms of tactile sensations, the GAL-P003 remote control, of course, is not ideal - you can feel the cheapness in everything. The body is made of inexpensive and lightweight plastic, painted in silver. There are small notches along the junction of the top and bottom panels. The volume and channel buttons are not very comfortable, they are pressed tightly, and a click is felt at the end of the button. The rest of the buttons have a convex shape and are easier to press. The labels on the main buttons are easy to read, but I think they will wear off over time with heavy use. If you value expensive and solid things and accessories, this remote is not for you. But if you just want a remote that works, the GAL-P003 is a very practical choice.
