Tablets asus memo pad. Review and testing of the ASUS Memo Pad tablet

At first Asus tablet computers cost a lot big money... Only a couple of years later, the company decided to create a separate line containing budget models... One such tablet is the Asus MeMo Pad 7. Let's try to find out if it is worth the money or is it outright rubbish?

Positioningtablet Asus MeMo Pad 7

Asus does not hide that the tablet computer belongs to the budget segment. At the presentation, they immediately mentioned that the body of this device is made of plastic, and the characteristics of the tablet can be called average. The gadget was first demonstrated at CES. And the audience liked it. Many noted that the tablet leaves a good impression for the money.

In the US, a tablet computer costs about $ 150. Compared to the latter iPad given the model is several times cheaper. This means that it will be used primarily for reading magazines and books, as well as browsing sites. Traditionally in Russia the prices for the device are more expensive. You can buy the Asus MeMo Pad 7 from us for about 6,300 rubles. The markup turned out to be noticeable. Because of this, the device will compete with numerous "Chinese". And not every person will stop at a famous brand.

Appearancetablet Asus MeMo Pad 7

As recently as last year, Asus' budget seven-inch tablets looked like toys. They were reluctant to use, so repulsive plastic was used. There were also problems with the build quality. But within a year, technology has made a certain leap forward. Now it's getting harder and harder to make a tablet computer bad.

The body, as mentioned above, was made of plastic. But this time, not glossy, but matte plastic was used. At least for the back cover. As a result, the device does not slip in hands, and it is almost impossible to drop it. There are no unnecessary inscriptions or logos on the back panel.

The front panel is no longer so joyful. There is too much room on the sides of the screen. Nowadays, the thickness of the frames is greatly reduced, but here this trend is not observed. However, this did not significantly affect the size of the device. A person with large hands can easily position the Asus MeMo Pad 7 in their palm.

All ends here have a silver finish. It looks like it is made of metal. But in reality, this is not the case, otherwise the tablet would constantly lose GPS signal. The device weighs only 295 grams. This is almost a record among all seven-inch tablets. After some metal models, the Asus MeMo Pad 7 feels like a feather in the hands. The thickness of the device is not minimal - 9.9 mm. Compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab S and iPad Air, the tablet seems plump. But it is useless to compare it with devices, the price of which is three times higher.

Displaytablet Asus MeMo Pad 7

Gradually, even budget tablets are moving away from low-resolution screens. Here, too, this indicator is not the lowest - 1280 x 800 pixels. And yet I would like more. This resolution results in a pixel density of 216 PPI, which many connoisseurs already consider insufficient. But you need to remember that the Asus MeMo Pad 7 tablet computer was created primarily for novice users. Such people will obviously be satisfied.

The creators borrowed the screen from their last year's tablets with a similar price tag. It is a pity that they did not develop the device in this regard. I am glad that the engineers have remained adherents of the IPS technology. Thanks to her, the display has wide viewing angles and decent color reproduction.

Softwaretablet Asus MeMo Pad 7

As you might guess, the tablet computer operates under control operating system Android. However, the proprietary Asus ZenUI shell is installed on top of it. This cannot be called an advantage of the device.

The shell is very heavy, not every novice user will understand it right away. And we can say that budget devices are the least suitable for such shells. The fact is that the tablet has not the best components, which is why all kinds of slowdowns during navigation may appear in the future. Asus would be better off installing pure Android on their cheapest tablets. But the company doesn't want to be like Chinese manufacturers.

Performancetablet Asus MeMo Pad 7

Asus continues to partner with Intel. Many budget tablets have recently started to be equipped with processors from the Intel Atom series. Asus MeMo Pad 7 also has a quad-core solution called Atom Z3745. Also under the case are 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory.

These characteristics are enough for the device. The system works very quickly and smoothly. Almost all modern games are also launched on the tablet. But it must be remembered that the tests were carried out over several hours. If you use the tablet computer for six months, then problems may begin. There is practically no doubt that slowdowns will appear after a while. Therefore, buyers of Asus MeMo Pad 7 are advised not to load the device large quantity applications.

Summarizingtablet Asus MeMo Pad 7

According to the manufacturer, the battery provides the tablet with 9 hours autonomous work... If the device is not heavily loaded, then it can hold out for a couple of days. Also, we must not forget about the possibility of installing a microSD memory card. It will allow the buyer to download a large amount of music and movies to the tablet computer.

If you are looking for the first tablet in your life, then you can take a look at the Asus MeMo Pad 7. It is inexpensive, its appearance does not bother at all, and the installed components will allow you to play movies in the highest resolution. The device is definitely worth its money. You will have to put up only with not the highest resolution of the display.

The Taiwanese company ASUS continues to develop a line of budget tablets MEMO Pad. Last year the company released the first two devices from this series - a ten-inch Smart 10 "(ME301T) and a very simple 7-inch ME172V with a TN matrix and a single-core processor. The first gadget was quite successful, but the younger one was not very successful. We didn't even write about him.

It's time to improve. This year at Computex, the company also updated the older model, which received a high-resolution screen and Intel processor Atom, and the younger one, to which today's material is devoted. The MEMO Pad HD 7 has more than enough differences compared to its predecessor - now it is a truly full-fledged tablet, which costs very little, but at the same time proudly bears the ASUS logo on the rear panel.

⇡ Appearance

The exterior of the tablet gives out its low cost: the gadget is quite plump - its thickness, taking into account the protruding rim of the rear camera, is slightly more than a centimeter - and the design of the case as a whole is devoid of any frills. A typical seven-inch tablet on Android.

ASUS MEMO Pad HD 7 - front panel

There are no navigation keys on the front of the tablet. The standard operating system buttons "Back", "Menu" and "Home" are software, they are located directly on the screen. At the top of the panel is the front camera lens.

ASUS MEMO Pad HD 7 full face

The layout of the tablet controls is quite familiar. Power and volume buttons are located on the upper end of the device, the micro-USB interface and 3.5 mm audio jack are placed on the left side. The headphone jack does not have the best location - during operation, it is this place that you want to grab with your hand. The memory card slot is located at the bottom end.

ASUS MEMO Pad HD 7 - sides

The back panel of the tablet is made of plastic, which is far from the most durable. The "back" of the MEMO Pad HD 7 is easily scratched and gets dirty pretty quickly. The panel is glossy, untextured, however, despite this, the tablet does not strive to slip out of your hands. The rear side of the device houses the lens of the main 5-megapixel camera and a cutout for the external speaker.

Assembled ASUS MEMO Pad HD 7 is quite good. During testing, we did not find any critical backlashes. The plastic creaks a little when the case is squeezed, but we are already used to this. On sale, this tablet can theoretically be found in different colors: white, pink, light green, dark blue and dark gray.

ASUS MEMO Pad HD 7 - Various Colors

The front side will be black in any case, and only differ in color rear panel... Interestingly, the first three of the listed versions have glossy "backs", while the last two have matte ones. So this tablet is also suitable for those who value practical design - they just need to pay attention to the dark colors.

Below are screenshots of the CPU-Z tablet ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Design

Here the tablet can only be praised, it is not a typical black nondescript case, but a pretty decent-looking device - austere black front and white plastic with a relief in the form of the company name on the back. There are also all the main elements - the rear camera at the top (in portrait orientation), on the upper end there is a micro-USB port and an audio output, on the left end there is a slot for micro-SD cards, at the bottom of the stereo speakers, on the right there is a volume rocker and an off button. Traditionally, for devices from ASUS, the company logo is duplicated under the screen in gray letters. Of course, we didn't get anything revolutionary, but there are differences from the usual and boring design, and significant ones.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Software

ASUS has always taken this point seriously, a large number of proprietary applications were a "feature" of all devices. The most useful ones are ASUS Artist (a simple "drawing" like Paint), Splendid (various modes of the graphic matrix of the screen), Studio (an application for working with photos), To-Do (scheduler) AudioWizard (an application for setting the sound playback mode), WebStorage (analogue Google drive and Yandex.Disk, designed specifically for ASUS users), Story (creating and editing photo notes). We also note the large number of third party applications- Amazon Kindle, App Backup, App Locker, Buddy Buzz, Zinio. Of course, there are very few readers, Google Books and Press Reader cannot serve as a worthy and full-fledged replacement, and it would not hurt to add games either, although everything here is at the discretion of the user. Apparently, the company decided to completely leave the choice to you. On the other hand, there are many utilitarian applications that are very useful in everyday use, so we still think that everything is fine here.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Settings

As usual, we were not offended in the choice of settings, there is everything that might be needed here. It is also worth noting the unusual design - instead of the usual black and white, there are different shades of gray here, due to the lower contrast it is more convenient to use in the dark.

In settings wireless networks we can see support for WPS - direct connection to the router "one click", as in the previously tested e-book... Also, the tablet can work with Wi-Fi Direct and supports an intelligent power system in sleep mode.

Of particular note is the ability to share your PC's internet connection when the tablet is connected via a USB cable. This differs from the usual use of the tablet as a modem, but considering that this model does not have a 3G module, it looks quite logical if there is no way to get the Internet directly from the tablet via Wi-Fi.

In the item "Individual ASUS settings»There are many useful options for everyday use. For example, by long pressing the button for recent applications, you can take a screenshot and select the format in which it will be saved. In addition, you can choose your own notification panel from ASUS instead of the standard one, it seemed to us more convenient than the stock one.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Browser

The built-in browser works well and is fast. There is Flash support Player 11 and HTML5. Thanks to this, you can easily watch videos in the browser, the high data transfer rate Wi-Fi will also allow you to watch movies in streaming. Thanks to high definition the screen is comfortable to read even small text, so you will not have the problems that arise when using low-resolution matrices, when a lot of imagination is required to read the text.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Music

To listen to music, only one application is preinstalled - Play Music. It supports sorting by album, shuffling, and searching downloaded tracks, which will allow you to quickly find your favorite music, rather than search for it among all the tracks.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Video

Since April 2013, we have been using a new testing methodology for testing multimedia devices. It is split into several parts.

  • Popular formats- common video formats and codecs. It is recommended that their support be evaluated first.
  • DVD and Blu-ray Disc Images- check playback of full DVD / Blu-ray images, including menus. Recommended if you store your media library as images
  • Rare formats- less common formats, but still relevant
  • Ultra HD 2K and 4K- formats with an eye to the future. In 2013, ultra-high definition video will gain popularity

The results of video testing with a standard player leave much to be desired, the manufacturer should seriously think about this issue. Apparently ASUS decided that you can always install another player.

You cannot do without installing a third-party player, which we recommend doing. After installing MX Player and codecs for it, almost all formats were played, except for the most difficult videos. The table shows the results with the installed MX Player

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Camera

Camera this tablet deserves a separate and detailed consideration. The manufacturer has added many software functions that allow you to take pictures High Quality even in difficult conditions. From the basic settings - change ISO, focus mode, auto exposure, anti-flicker mode on monitors. Exposure, photo resolution and aspect ratio (5 MP and 4: 3 by default), camera effects (vintage / grayscale / negative, etc.), camera mode selection are separately available for adjusting. The Vivid and Night modes are most useful here. As you might guess, the former is used for shooting bright objects, such as a lamp or a candle, and the latter is for night shots. For the latter, it is required to hold the tablet still during shooting, since the shutter is open for several seconds, and otherwise the picture will be heavily blurred, but despite this, even if the hands "moved" a little, the quality is still high. The front camera does not work miracles, but it fulfills its characteristics with dignity. Below you can see examples of photos and videos captured with the tablet camera.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Performance

CPU performance

We tested the performance of the 4-core Cortex A9 processor of the ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 using Linpack. Results are reported in millions of floating point operations per second (MFLOPS).

Despite the quad-core processor, the results are slightly worse than even dual-core systems, so in applications that require a processor (office, etc.), be prepared for the fact that the work may not be ideal. Although since conventional applications ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 tablet copes without problems.

Overall system performance

We used Smartbench 2012 1.0 benchmark to assess overall system performance. This benchmark is very similar to the 3DMark and SysMark packages in that it provides simple and convenient performance indices for two categories: productivity applications and games. On the other hand, the synthetic benchmark may not accurately reflect the real performance of applications and games.

You can compare tablet results with other smartphones and tablets at http://smartphonebenchmarks.com/

As in the Linpack benchmark, system performance is at the level of dual-core systems, but the graphics tests showed results on the level of quad-core tablets, which we expected, since the tablet has a PowerVR SGX544 GPU, as in many other popular 4-core models.

JavaScript performance

SunSpider is a JavaScript benchmark that demonstrates both the performance of a tablet's JavaScript engine and computing power(less) hardware... Poor JavaScript implementation on a very fast tablet can blur the entire platform's performance. And yet, the great JavaScript implementation will make it possible to efficiently use even slow systems. However, today the main implementations of JavaScript engines are getting closer to each other, developers are borrowing all the best ideas. JavaScript tests are single threaded due to the nature of browsers. SunSpider correctly evaluates CPU-sensitive tasks found in real web applications.

Below are the results of SunSpider 1.0 on tablets and Android phones. Android devices use the Google V8 JavaScript engine.

The results are not record-breaking, although they are within the normal range. A significant script execution time is typical for tablets without optimization or with weak hardware, so we advise you to use a more modern or lighter browser.

AnTuTu

We have added the results of the popular AnTuTu test... It has regular updates, the current version at the time of review is 4.1, the results of 4.x do not coincide with 3.x, so we presented only those tablets in which the new version was tested.

As can be seen from AnTuTu results, the tablet does not set records, by no means can we say that it is a quad-core. On the other hand, MTK chips offer lower power consumption, so you can hope for a longer battery life than Rockchip tablets with the same performance.

Relative Benchmark

This test was created "for growth", really high results, no available devices for Android base can not show. The graphics level is much higher than the gaming average, so even if the results here are not impressive, the real games the performance can be quite good. 60 fps in this test- this is already the Xbox 360.

The results are low, although they "creep away" from zero by a noticeable value, after all, 5.5 FPS is at least something. However, you will hardly be able to play serious shooters, the game turns into a slideshow.

Network bandwidth

We tested network performance using the IxChariot benchmark as well as an 802.11 b / g / n router with 1 Gbps ports. The tablet was at a distance of about 1 meter from the access point. We tested the maximum available mode network (802.11g or 802.11n), at this time no other active transmissions were carried out, pronounced interference in the network coverage area was also not detected.

The network bandwidth is average, but I would like to have a higher level than 15 Mbps. Although this speed will be enough, for example, to watch streaming video.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Game tests

Test results do not always match real performance, so we decided to carry out tests in real conditions as well.

For this, three applications were selected:

  • Cut The Rope is a casual game with simple and beautiful animation
  • Epic Citadel - Unreal Engine Demo with Built-in Benchmark
  • NFS Most Wanted is a modern game with powerful graphics

These tests validate performance under a variety of conditions and provide an estimate of actual performance.

In games, frames per second (fps) are an important factor. The higher it is, the smoother the perceived game. Frame rates below 30 fps can lead to jerks and other unpleasant consequences. Frame rates below 15 fps turn the game into a slideshow, you can hardly enjoy it. We took the average frame rate during the test run in the selected game.

Cut the rope

We decided to test the tablet on regular casual games that many users play in order to have a good time. Since the user can play them for hours, a good frame per second (fps) rate is an important indicator, because not everyone can watch a twitchy picture for many hours. We tested the tablet operation on Cut the Rope HD.

The results are not bad, but they cannot be called remarkable, we hope that in more serious tests the tablet will behave adequately.

Epic citadel

We have added the Epic Citadel gaming test, which is a demonstration of the capabilities of Infinity Blade's Unreal engine for Android OS. The test has different .apk and cache for different GPUs, so you need to take your versions for the test. The test was carried out only in High Quality mode. We excluded the High Performance mode from the tests, since the results differ insignificantly, and we are interested in the performance of the tablet relative to other models. You can see the results below.

The results are not bad, we can say that it will be comfortable to play games on the Unreal engine. 23 fps in Ultra High is, of course, not 50 fps in High, but it is also quite enough for an acceptable game.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

To test the performance of "heavy" and demanding games, we chose NFS: Most Wanted. To install this game, you have to download the cache for each device separately, it was not possible to find something common for devices even with the same GPU, and the cache itself "weighs" 2 GB, an archive of 600 MB is downloaded. Therefore, get ready for the fact that you will not be able to play right after installation, you will have to pump out the cache.

The results are very high, higher than anything we have had before. However, the previous leader used the same GPU, so similar results could be expected.

In general, based on the results of gaming tests, we can say that you can play almost everything except absolutely heavy games... But you can run into a nuisance in the form of the lack of optimization of the game for the GPU of the tablet - the tests show that the results are very different from the usual proportions.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Battery life

We tested the tablet for battery life in various use cases. Since the brightness of the screen is low and the sound in the speakers is quiet, we measured it at maximum brightness and maximum sound in the headphones. Wi-Fi was turned on.

The results are very good, to be honest, even higher than we expected. The only drawback is that charging is performed only from USB, but even in this mode it goes quite fast. Many "budget" competitors on the market offer half the battery life and even lower, so we were satisfied with the results. You can take your tablet on a trip and not be afraid that it will run out on the way. Unless, of course, you will not play something heavy at maximum brightness, but just reading a book or watching a movie on the tablet will last half a day. In standby mode, the tablet lay for almost a week and was only half discharged, so there is no need to turn it off. It lasted three days with Wi-Fi turned on, so even in this mode it is not necessary to turn it off to save battery.

ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7 (ME173X) | Conclusion

According to the test results, the tablet performed well. ASUS once again convincingly proved that it can make not only premium devices, but also excellent budget models. Moreover, the low price is achieved through quite acceptable compromises - it is not associated with poor workmanship or poor manufacturer support, unlike many other inexpensive competitors' models.

We got a really solid product, in which there is not a drop of superfluity, but to say that something is missing at such a price, the language does not turn out to be. In our case, it is even difficult to find close examples for comparison, since usually the price is much higher. Of the closest we can name and, but in neither case will we get the same support from the manufacturer, and the first is noticeably weaker, and the second is noticeably more powerful than the ASUS MeMO Pad HD7.

In general, earlier we received either more powerful and expensive or cheaper and weaker tablets, while ASUS with the MeMO Pad line occupies an almost empty niche of "medium" budget tablets, which can be recommended to those who do not want to overpay, but also do not want to get a tablet that you will want to get rid of after a few hours of use.

We get a perfectly balanced, having excellent parameters for its price and quite good against the general background, and at the same time still an inexpensive gadget, which other manufacturers cannot boast of, who are forced to bet either on the price or on differences from the "gray mass". Here, averaging is taken as a standard, all good is taken from it and all bad is removed. We saw something like this in, the same low price, the same average characteristics for those times, but the usability and versatility of the application were at their best, despite the non-promoted company, the absence of an outstanding design, etc. They really wanted to use it, like the ASUS MeMO Pad HD7.

Benefits of ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7:

  • Reasonable price
  • Good performance for this value
  • A large number of settings and powerful technical support from the manufacturer with frequent and large-scale updates
  • Great camera
  • Very long battery life and fast charging

Disadvantages of ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7:

  • No flash
  • Charging from USB only
  • For normal video playback, third-party programs are required

The painstaking work of the designers is noticeable. The elegant lines of the body give the gadget a certain aristocracy. Particularly pleasing is the ultra-thin bezel of the gadget - the width on the sides is only 9 millimeters. The build is also commendable. Everything is tailored with perfect precision. Performance

The Asus Memo Pad 7 ME572CL is a pretty powerful device. Few can compete with him in terms of performance. The specialists from Asus made a rather interesting decision. Instead of standard and already boring chips from NVIDIA, Qualcomm, MediaTek, Memo Pad 7 uses a modern 64-bit Z3560 processor from the notorious Intel... Each of the four cores of this monster has a power of 1.89 GHz. And coupled with a video accelerator (this is exactly what is in the iPhone 5S) it turns out to be an incredibly productive device. The display of the Asus Memo Pad 7 ME173X deserves special attention. The screen has standard size- 1280 x 800 pixels. Nevertheless, the tablet boasts high-quality details. The picture is very clear, without any smears and blur. Pixilization is not noticeable at all. Image quality is positively affected by IPS matrix with special LED-backlight. Thanks to her, the screen boasts bright, saturated colors. And reading books with the Asus Memo Pad 7 is sheer pleasure. Perhaps the biggest omission in terms of the display is the lack of an anti-reflective coating. Because of this, working with the tablet in the sun is uncomfortable - you have to set the brightness to maximum.

Tablet Asus Memo Pad HD 7 16GB has an excellent sensor. Every touch is instantly processed without any delay. Moreover, the screen is capable of supporting up to 10 fingers at the same time.

Sound

The tablet has two speakers: one is located on the top edge, the other on the bottom. Thanks to this, the sound is quite clear and loud, which is undoubtedly a plus of the device. Also, while watching films, serials through a tablet, a so-called stereo effect is created. This gives an additional atmosphere.

Music lovers will be pleased too. The speakers do a good job of reproducing different frequencies. Therefore, at the output we get crystal clear sound without any interference.

Software

Asus Memo Pad 7 16GB Powered By modern version Android. Updates come immediately after their official release. The operation of the interface also does not cause reproaches. Everything works very smartly, without any slowdowns.

It is also worth noting that on top of the classic Android 4.4 KitKat a special graphical shell from Asus called ZenUI. It does not in any way reduce the functionality of the native software. ZenUI's main function is to change appearance interface, making it easier to work with. And it copes with this function pretty well. Asus designers have greatly simplified the interface and made it intuitive.

The brand new ZenUI looks pretty nice. Icons have become much simpler user interface meets all modern trends. Standard Applications have also been changed to match the overall style. In general, ZenUI creates only positive emotions for users.

Autonomy

The battery is the scourge of everyone modern gadgets... Nowadays it is very difficult to find a tablet that would work long enough without a network connection. The Asus specialists understood this perfectly, so they tried to make the Asus Memo Pad 7 ME176CX as autonomous as possible.

The built-in battery capacity is about 4000 mAh. And this is one of the toughest tablets on the market today. V normal mode with measured operation, the gadget can last up to two days. And this is a wonderful indicator. Therefore, the device can be safely taken on long trips - the battery will not let you down.

Among other things, the tablet has special section... In it, you can quite flexibly adjust the energy consumption. For example, by slightly reducing the backlight, you can postpone the trip to the outlet for a couple of hours.

Outcome

In conclusion, we can say that the Asus Memo Pad 7 16GB tablet is a delightful gadget that has a stylish design, high performance and huge functionality. The device is perfect for both home use and long trips. Although the price of the device bites, it is fully justified by the quality of the final product.

Comparison with iPad mini

Comparison with Kindle 4

The body of the tablet has a minimum of elements. On the bottom there is a micro USB connector for connecting to a computer and charging. Slightly to the left is a slot for a microSD memory card with support for SDHC cards, the maximum memory card capacity is 32 GB.

On the left side there is an unlock button and a rocker for adjusting the volume. The buttons are soft and press with a soft click.

Above we see a universal headset jack and a microphone.

On the right side there is a small hole for hot reloading the tablet.

The speaker is located on the back cover and covered with a metal mesh.

Screen and camera

ASUS MeMO Pad uses a 7-inch LED screen with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. Density - 168 dots per inch. It's certainly not an HD screen like the Nexus 7, but the pixels aren't as noticeable.

The sensor's sensitivity is excellent - the tablet responds even to weak touches. There is support for Multi-Touch. In total, the sensor works out up to ten simultaneous touches.

Thanks to the use of TN + WV (Wide View) technology, it was possible to achieve wider viewing angles than in a conventional TN-matrix. At certain viewing angles, the screen loses color and contrast, but this happens only in landscape viewing - you can't watch movies together. In the portrait orientation, everything is in order with the overview: the colors are displayed correctly.

Above the screen is an HD-camera peephole (1 megapixel resolution, f / 2.0 aperture). The camera produces a picture in 720p resolution, video shooting - up to 30 frames per second.

Sound

The audio component of the tablet has support for SonicMaster, which has proven itself in some ASUS notebook models.

Designed by the ASUS Golden Ear team in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower, this technology implies the use of hardware and software to improve sound quality close to that provided by full-fledged separate audio systems.

Unlike other audio solutions that merely enhance sound by artificially amplifying specific frequencies, SonicMaster focuses on delivering the original sound as accurately as possible without tricking your ears with “primitive” audio filters. Therefore, you can be sure that you hear the recording exactly as it was recorded.

Performance

The heart of the tablet is the VIA WM8950 processor. It is a 1GHz single core CPU based on ARM Cortex-A9.

The graphics here are ARM Mali-400. The tablet has enough power for hardware decoding of FullHD 1080p, H.264 video. Of course, we can't play high-performance 3D games, but simple games like Angry Birds will work fine. Considering the cost of the tablet, no more is required of it. Random access memory here 1 GB, this volume will be enough for everyday work. Built-in memory 8 or 16 GB.
The performance benchmarks show that the MeMO pad works at the level of the previous single-core flagships.

Software platform

The device runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Thanks to this version, it was possible to achieve more smooth operation interface even on a single-core processor. Above is the shell ASUS Launcher, which adds functionality to the interface.

The firmware already includes some basic ASUS programs for working with the tablet. It is worth telling a little about each.
