An overview of Inkling, a digital pen from Wacom. Digital pen

Many people already know what graphic tablets are. The recognized leader among the manufacturers of these digital devices for a long time is Wacom, which went even further, breathing life into people's fantasies: tell me which of those who like to draw at their leisure, grabbing a sheet of paper from a nearby table, did not think that it would be nice to see the result right away on the computer screen. In the past, you would definitely have to scan an image ...

With the introduction of the Wacom Inkling, this has changed. Draw on plain paper and at the same time get a digital copy, which can be saved in one of the popular graphic formats or exported to the program for further processing in vector or raster form.

Sounds fantastic. How close to ideal the result of the work of the digital pen Inkling in harsh reality - now we will find out.

Equipment

- digital pen Wacom Inkling;
- battery;
- Inkling charging kit;
- Inkling receiver;
- USB-miniUSB connecting cable;

You can save the work result in the following types of files: JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, SVG and PDF; or export - to programs: Adobe photoshop, Illustrator, Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, or Sketchbook Designer (2011 and up).

Appearance

Looking into the box, we see a digital pen, Charger and a battery for it. Where is everything else, so carefully listed on the package. At the very bottom, a guide to quick start, which revealed the secret.

A pen cradle is a kind of "pencil case" consisting of two halves connected by a magnetic lock on one side and a pen slot on the other. Inside, the missing items are thoughtfully placed - a connecting cable, spare ink refills in the amount of 4 pieces and an Inkling receiver.

This truly interesting, looking a little futuristic, little thing is made of high-quality plastic of two types - matte and glossy.

The nib is generally comparable in size to a regular ballpoint pen.

Soft-touch plastic is used in the design, only the strip with the Wacom logo and the paws fixing the rod are made of glossy material.

The upper part is widened, there is a battery compartment. Access to it is not difficult - you just need to open the hinged lid with a little effort.

The activation of the battery is indicated by the green LED in the lid turning on.

How does it work

Before the first launch, you must fully charge the receiver and the pen battery. When charging, the power indicator of the receiver glows red, which changes to green when the process is complete.

The pen battery fully charges in about 3 hours. It's worth noting that the connecting cable is extremely short at around 22cm, so you need to save some space for the Wacom Inkling near the USB port for this case.

The receiver is easily attached to a work sheet of paper by means of a convenient "clip". For correct signal transmission, it is required at least that there are no foreign objects between the stylus and the receiver during operation, and you should not take the stylus by the area where the “paws” that hold the tip are located. The reading area starts 2 cm below the attached receiver.

On the front of the receiver is a line of three indicators and two buttons above it. On the left there is a pair of indicator-Enable buttons, on the right - New Layer. The indicator between them lights up, receiving a signal from the pen while drawing (or just touching the work surface).

If the indicator is off, all your efforts are in vain - you should check the battery in the pen. Hence another feature of using the pen that I had to face: every time you start working with Wacom Inkling, you need to make sure that the battery is active, because even during use after 30-60 seconds. in standby mode, the pen light turns off even if the receiver is still ready to record a signal. This can be attributed to the manufacturer's concern for a longer battery life of the pen. Reactivation does not take much time, you just need to fold back and re-close the battery cover - a couple of movements and you're done.

As you may have guessed, the receiver is equipped with built-in memory (2 GB). In addition to the folder for saving sketches, there is a distribution kit of Inkling Sketch Manager for Mac and Windows, as well as a set of documentation in PDF format which includes a user manual and important information about the product in several languages.

What strikes the imagination of Wacom Inkling when you first look at it? What makes you almost ready to give in to the impulse and buy it immediately? The answer is simple - mobility. A picture of how, sitting somewhere on a bench (a beach, in a train, in a garden with strawberries or another place remote from the computer), without worrying about wires and availability electrical outlets, you can selflessly transfer your ideas to paper, while simultaneously saving them in electronic form.

What is the result?

I have tried Wacom Inkling on drawings and handwritten text. It is worth noting that the device takes the A4 format of vertical orientation as the working field, so you need to think about the location of the receiver in advance. If you are right-handed and working with an album in horizontal orientation, then the Inkling receiver will need to be placed on the left side of the sheet, not on top, otherwise you will not notice how your drawing will go out of the reading area.

Below are examples of drawings: first - a scanned "pen", followed by a corresponding sketch from the Inkling receiver.

The drawing is captured fairly accurately. It was applied to paper on a table, that is, in almost ideal conditions of a flat surface. It can be seen that the hairs on the top of the head have fallen into the “blind” zone of the receiver. Also, it remained a mystery to me why the paste in the pen is black, but it is recognized as blue.

The handwritten text was drawn in a Spartan setting, namely an album and a notebook placed on the lap. Moreover, the album proved to be worse, since it was thinner and had a larger area, which created a greater curvature of the surface, and hence the complexity for the receiver in interpreting the signals.

In general, if you want a decent result, follow the instructions, that is, find a flat table nearby (or at least carry a solid stationery with you, an album with a dense backdrop - there are a lot of options) and create your health.

Outcomes

Wacom Inkling, perhaps, cannot be considered as an independent tool for creating high-quality images, but when paired with a graphic tablet, it will be an indispensable aid to the artist's work, speeding up the transfer of sketches made on paper away from the computer into specific graphic design programs for subsequent processing.

Those who consider Wacom Inkling solely as a fun and fashionable toy may be advised to pay attention to budget models from Ritmix. As with Wacom, they cannot compete, but it will not be so pity to throw them on the shelf when your interest fades away, otherwise you will have to learn how to draw in order to recoup the money spent.

Digital pens are not even a fashion trend, but just a separate narrow layer of devices. Although the idea is good - we write on paper, then we see the text on the computer. But in the end, there are all sorts of nuances that interfere with the normal use of such pens.

There have already been several reviews of digital pens on our resource, and by right the industry leader should be called the products of the company Livescribe. The price tag is immodest, you need your own paper - but no additional modules, there is special applications(for example, a dictionary), and a microphone is also built into the pen. Happiness, what can you say.

Today, let's talk about a Wacom product - recognized leader in the production of graphic tablets, or digitizers. I don’t know what it was that Wacom took to the steppe of digital pens - but it already happened that it did. And Wacom got the Inkling product.

Packaging and equipment

A beautiful box, inside - a handle, a carrying case, a module for attaching to paper, replaceable rods, a miniUSB cable. The dimensions of all this stuff are quite large, plus solutions - you can immediately charge both the handle and the module, plus spare rods in the kit. There is also an instruction.

Receiver weight - 39 grams, handle - 19 grams.

Appearance and ease of use

The handle is quite massive, made of soft-touch plastic. The weight distribution is strange, it is as heavy as possible in the back - as a result, it is not very convenient to hold it. Another drawback is the thickness of the handle itself, as well as the thickening closer to the rod. I can’t call myself overly fastidious - but I didn’t like holding Inkling in my hand. For reference - the diameter of the pen is about 16 mm, that is, it is more of a marker. Length - 154 mm.

The case and the module are also made of plastic, the module has a clothespin, buttons for turning on and turning a virtual page, as well as 3 indicators - operability / charging, pen activity and page turning.

With regard to charging and operating time. The whole set is charged for 3 hours, it works according to the manufacturer's statement for 8 hours - I have not checked this time.

How the pen works. We attach the unit with the receiver to a sheet of paper (as tightly as possible), turn it on. Then you need to hit the pen on the sheet, it also turns on, you can start drawing or writing something down. When to start new page- you can press the corresponding button on the module.

The limitations are simple - the block does not record pen movements at distances less than 2 cm from it, and the drawing area is also limited to the size of A4 paper.

What about quality? The stated accuracy is 2.5 mm for the main part of the sheet, and 5 mm for its edges. In fact, it is important to make sure that your fingers do not jump off to the lower part of the handle, otherwise you get indecency, which can be observed in the figures above.

In my opinion, this is completely useless, but I have a bad habit of holding the pen close to the shaft. If you hold it high, then Inkling will suit you (the drawing of the rabbit was done by a friend who just holds the pens normally).

Together with a friend, we have developed several disadvantages:

  1. You need to keep track of where you draw - you can't get close to the block, you can't get out of the A4 area either.
  2. It is necessary to monitor whether the pen draws at all - sometimes it does not activate from the first "hit" on the paper.
  3. You need to watch how you hold the pen.
  4. Even with the observance of these rules, not everything is recorded and not always.

Well, one way or another - they recorded something, but what to do next? Next, you need to upload pictures to your computer. The connection is simple - the module is defined as a USB stick, you can install a program to work with sketches. The functionality is simple - viewing (both the finished drawing and the process of its creation), export to various formats: JPEG, BMP, TIFF, SVG, PNG (in the latter case, massive files of 25 megabytes are obtained).

Conclusion

I did not write about the price of the device, so to speak, I saved the most interesting things for last. The price abroad is 199 dollars, in our country it is about 10 thousand rubles.

I understand perfectly well - Wacom, a convenient case included. But - with such "convenience" of use, the price should be slightly higher than that of the Ritmix pens (they cost 3 thousand rubles), but it certainly cannot be compared with Livescribe with a microphone, the highest recognition accuracy, applications, uploading to Evernote. The only downside to Livescribe - which leads to most of the benefits - is the special notebooks you need to buy.

I understand that you can get used to it - but I will quickly get used to the Ritmix's set, and I will give many times less money (with the same functionality).

You should decide, first of all, whether you need such happiness - and for such money. If you are thinking about purchasing, I recommend trying this pen in the store where possible.

The editors would like to thank the iCover.ru store for the Wacom Inkling kit provided for the test..

Ilya Tarakanov ()

Writes to us Dima Marov.

Many of you must already be using a product from Wacom... It could be Graphics tablet Bamboo or Intuos, old Graphire or newest screen Cintiq, or maybe the Bamboo for iPad stylus or the Bamboo Paper app. Wacom products are known all over the world, have proven themselves to be excellent in work and Everyday life.

About a year ago, Wacom released a funky product called Inkling.

Inkling- this is a compact and quite elegant pencil case, inside of which everything you need is located. First, the handle. An almost ordinary ballpoint pen with a built-in pressure sensing mechanism. Secondly, the receiver of the signal about the movement and touch of the pen on the writing surface. The pen and receiver are housed in a pencil case that acts as a charging dock and hides a miniature USB cable for connecting to a computer. Also in the pencil case there are four spare refills for replacement in the writing unit of the pen. All his, as they say, the pencil case carries with him.

The purpose of this device, no matter how they twisted it in their hands, no matter how they tried to use it, remained unclear. On the one hand, a long-standing problem has been solved - the inability to use a pen from a graphics tablet like a regular pen to draw on paper, and the result would be transferred to a computer. This task seems to have been solved, but in a very different way. On the other hand, it is a toy that has no equal.

The review would not be quite a review, because Inkling was announced almost a year ago and was not released yesterday or even a month ago. The copy we got has undergone some pretty funny tests.

The overall result of using Inkling was unclear. It seems to be a good thing, but all the little things that Wacom usually polishes so carefully in their products in this pen spoil the picture. First, it is not at all clear who the product is intended for. In everyday life, it is unlikely to come in handy, few people need to have a digital copy of what is written on paper, given that just a pen is nothing in digital form does not record, for this you need to attach the receiver to the paper. Secondly, a ballpoint pen, and not everyone likes to write with ballpoint pens. For example, I don't like it. Thirdly, it is not convenient for her to draw: the tip is wide like a pen Wacom tablet, but does not allow grabbing the edge because of the slots along the contour, and such a grip is especially loved by illustrators; and the figures in digital form come out, to put it mildly, not very pleasant. But first things first.

They brought a box of Inkling, took out the contents. A cursory study of the instructions prompted: insert the battery into the pen, and connect the pencil case using the USB cable supplied and securely in the pencil case. We did it, waited a little for everything to charge. It should be noted that it charges quickly, and during the tests I did not manage to put the battery on either the receiver or the handle (the receiver claims 18 hours, the handle 15 hours of operation).

Having examined the pencil case, its contents and all the removable components, I would like to note that everything is done perfectly. The shape of the plastic, the joint gaps, the overall structural and aesthetic performance at the highest level, to which users are already accustomed, for example, graphic Intuos tablets 4. The material of execution (plastic) is about the same. The body of the receiver and the pencil case are made of glossy and matte plastic, glued immaculately. All USB contacts are perfectly seated - engineers and industrial designers at Wacom can safely breathe out, the quality of their work is difficult to even discuss. I was pleasantly surprised by the color and brightness of the diodes, signaling to the user that the receiver and the handle are turned on and transmitting data. If you have a home D-Link switch or something like that, then you know how diodes can burn out the eyes, blinking incredibly bright light and disgustingly poisonous color. Inkling also has a complete order with diodes: soft subsurface light, diffused by plastic, uniform color, well indicating the state. Considering that the receiver is constantly in the field of view during use, this factor is important. And here Wacom will have a plus.

Well, everything is clear with the execution, but what about the usability? The pencil case is quite light and sturdy. We decided to sacrifice the test with a fall on the asphalt, from which impact resistance and safety after a fall are not known. The handle is weighty, but not heavy. The design and balance of the center is very similar to the Intuos 4 nib. The only difference is that the Inkling pen has a battery that changes the center of gravity. It will be difficult to write with such a pen for a long time, the hand will get tired quickly. The handle does not need to be turned on and off, it goes into energy saving mode by itself after some (not set) period of inactivity. In the work there was no case that the handle turned off at the wrong moment. Although, if this happens, some of the digitally written will definitely be missing. The receiver-recorder is very light, I can't even believe that it has a battery. The receiver has convenient way attachment to the writing surface - clothespin. The clothespin can grab and hold fairly securely on a single sheet of paper. The maximum capacity is 18 sheets of standard office paper for a printer.

The first laugh escaped when the receiver was already attached to the notebook, turned on, he reported readiness and the hand began to write text from his head, but the ink was not applied to the paper. A ballpoint pen! First you need to paint it ;-).

The second chuckle came with a question about how to make it clear to the receiver that I want to start recording in new document? There are two buttons on the case: on / off and new layer... Everything is clear with layers, but the task is not to make a new layer, but to create new file in the receiver so that the data from the new sheet is written to it. It turned out that everything is ingenious and simple. New sheet = remove receiver + put it back on " new leaf paper ". It is logical, but unusual. It was possible to do it with one button, probably.

The first field test was in the subway. Through acquaintances, a girl was found who knew how to stenographe. Armed with a notebook Canson XL Mix Media, taking the entire Inkling pencil case, went to the metro. IN AND. Lenin. The girl took a pen, noted its strange weight on the upper end (nevertheless, it is true, writing for as long as you want will be a torment with such a balance), I attached the receiver to a notebook and began to dictate. Half a minute later, I noticed that the diode, signaling the touch of the pen on the writing surface, lights up, at best, every three to five stripes and checkmarks of the transcript. With a little tinkering, it was found that a flat writing space is very important for the receiver. If the sheets are bent, if you try to write close to the receiver, or if he has not yet "seen" the pen - a pitiful sight awaits you when reading the file. It will not contain even half of what you have written or drawn. In total, the first conclusion: the device is not adapted for field activities.

Having moved closer to laboratory conditions after the failed test with stenography, he began to test what the pen can do and what it cannot. In principle, it turned out that the pen itself can do everything. Writes well, ink is black, contrasting, dries quickly, the ball does not smear clots of residues, nothing spreads. A surprise awaited when I connected to a computer and viewed what I had written.

The included utility for visualizing data from the receiver to the picture showed fear and hatred of everything that was done. First, the application itself is called Sketch Manager, although the application itself says Inkling Sketch Manager. The next day I could not remember the name of the application, I would have had to look for it in the Applications folder if the application itself were not immensely intrusive. After installation, every time you start Mac OS X, it will automatically launch and hang in the Dock without asking. Brrr, somehow this is not very pleasant. Moreover, a small icon is placed in the tray, it is not clear what it symbolizes, but if you close the application, then the icon disappears. Horror, melancholy, I hope this will be fixed in application updates. (If there are any. There is no update function in the application.)

The screenshot clearly shows that the manager can export drawings and notes to three applications: Photoshop (in raster form), Illustrator (in vector form) and SketchBook Pro (or SketchBook Designer; in vector form). We did not manage to export the image to Photoshop directly. After a command from the manager, After Effects is launched instead of Photoshop, which reports that it cannot open the pngloader.jsx file. This means that the manager has a kind of rasterization mechanism for vector images, the output of which is a script written in JavaScript for Photoshop, which includes the path to access the file. Oh my God, I exclaimed! Why didn't they make one button "Export", behind which would hide the selection box in which format to save - EPS, TIF, PNG or SWF? The question is rhetorical. The sediment remained.

This is what the digital drawing result looks like. In general, very much even nothing. Here are just some of the letters, the shading has crept to the right and down, in some places the shading is missing, but not critical. There are places where continuous lines are missing and not fixed. This is critical. On the left side of the image is the result of export to SketchBook Designer 2012, on the right - in Illustrator CS 5.1. Both applications work with vector data and stroke weight, the line style is processed based on their presets, so the difference in line weight and line style is not significant for the test. It is essential that Sketch Manager correctly output data to both applications - point to point. Personally, I think the result looks scarier in Illustrator.

Let's take a look at the vector data structure. It should be admitted: for the optical method of reading data on the movement of the handle, the resolution, or rather the discreteness and accuracy of the discreteness recording, are impressive. Of course, it would be great to see not so many points and generally see the result in Bézier curves, but don't I want much from a product that is priced at $ 199 in the US, whose dimensions are comparable to a case for glasses, and the weight is about half that of iPhone 4?

Testing with primitives, the pen passed confidently, but with flaws in the results. In the picture, you can see that the circles have turned into ovals, tilted at different angles. Lines drawn first in one direction and then in the opposite direction do not always remain lines. Both circles and lines were drawn on paper along a ruler.

The most difficult test for such a device is writing a manuscript. In the drawings, all the details are linear, and the manuscript is so expressive and non-linear for an optical device that he must fall asleep on it. And so it happened. The receiver loses its pen in some places, which is why parts of a word or letter may not be counted.

This test was performed according to all the rules required of an Inkling user:
1. the writing surface is placed on a plane;
2. the receiver is fixed in one of the suggested zones along the edge of the sheet so that no other object or my own hand blocks the pen's visibility;
3. I do not hold the pen by the edge, but above the mark so that the receiver can see the special markers in the grooves at the tip.
And all the same, he missed the letter "and".

After conducting a number of specific tests, I made a conclusion. Inkling is a great toy. Not professional tool but a serious toy. With proper dexterity and habit, as well as the ability to close your eyes to some flaws, a toy can become great auxiliary tool for the illustrator. The size and shape of the pencil case, as well as the comfort experienced by using Inkling, are comparable to using good tablet(again, Wacom). The device is made perfectly, works flawlessly, it is definitely worth its money.

In the future, we are obviously waiting for either an improvement of this device, or a complete rejection of the idea and concept entirely. Both options are possible. In the meantime, this is one of the most interesting and useful gifts that can be presented to an illustrator, designer, artist and any other professional who draws sketches. For children under 15, I would not recommend buying Inkling. Personally, I am completely satisfied with Inkling and now I draw sketches of interfaces for iOS with it. Convenient, practical, there is a copy on paper, and there is a digital vector, which takes five minutes to color in SketchBook.

website Dima Marov writes to us. Many of you must already be using a Wacom product. It can be a Bamboo or Intuos pen tablet, an old Graphire or the latest Cintiq screen, or it can be the Bamboo for iPad stylus or the Bamboo Paper app. Wacom products are known all over the world and have proven themselves in work and everyday life. About...

For a student sitting in a lecture with a passionate chemistry professor, or a salesperson attending an important business presentation, taking notes is an essential skill. Detailed annotations will allow you to continually return to important information so that you can extract useful information from it later. The recording process has evolved with the development of technology to provide the user with the ability to control access, archive, distribute and edit sensitive information. Digital pens allow you to take notes in situations where laptops and tablets are simply powerless.

Where does an electronic pen come in handy?

A digital pen is almost as inconspicuous as a regular ballpoint pen. It uses real ink and is used to write on real paper. The only difference between a digital pen and a pen in a breast pocket is recording the movement of the pen. Every word, sketch, or scribble is converted to a sequence of ones and zeros.

Many people prefer to use laptops and tablets for writing because the information on them can be easily edited, saved and shared. However, these devices are highly distracting to the user, which is why many businesses and educational institutions prohibit them from meetings and lectures. The best digital pens like the Livescribe 3 Smartpen, Sky WiFi Smartpen, and the Neo Smartpen N2 allow you to make comprehensive markups without internet distraction or keyboard clicking.

Numeric Pen: Overview of Selection Options

The electronic pen captures its own movements in several ways. The best models use technology developed by Anoto Group. A miniature camera placed near the tip of the gadget is used to track microdots printed on paper. However, most digital pens use a positioning device that attaches to a sheet of paper and tracks a sensor on the tip of the pen as it moves across the paper, allowing you to write on any surface.

Once you create a digital page and upload it to your computer, you need an intuitive application that lets you manage archiving, searching, sharing, and editing your notes. The best electronic pens give you the ability to reflect what you write to the fullest.

Below are some criteria to consider when choosing a digital pen.

Performance

A pen, whether digital or conventional, should be comfortable. Its size and weight can affect how long you can take notes without fatigue. Unfortunately, this means that the gadgets with the most features are at the same time larger because the technology is housed inside. Many electronic pens are not much larger than regular ballpoint pens, but lack the features that allow you to make the most comprehensive notes.

After comfort comes precision. It makes no sense to complicate the writing experience with cameras and position sensors if digital image notes does not match the physical image. The error in determining the position of most pens is within 0.3-0.7 mm of the spatial difference compared to the actual strokes. However, the accuracy of the positioning devices can change when you move the gadget while writing, or when your finger interferes with the sensor.

After filling out the paper page and moving to the next one, you also need to turn over the electronic one. A smart digital pen should ensure smooth transitions so that you do not end up with one confused image, consisting of several.

Same best models Electronic pens provide audio recording, synchronizing it with notes to create a digital version of them, which includes audio recording. In addition, the term should be assessed autonomous work battery and simple synchronization tools such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. These are all important to the performance of a digital pen because no one will like it if their pen stops working in the middle of the note-taking process. Also, wireless sync allows you to exchange data with a wide range of devices in real time.

Feature set

Data characteristics electronic devices can vary significantly. Some are essentially a computer embedded in a pen onto which applications can be loaded, while others are nothing more than a fancy pen. The new models prioritize pressure sensitivity, multiple layers of depth, and ease of synchronization with programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.

If the digital pen includes software for converting handwritten text to print, the conversion must be reasonably accurate. Most devices, besides their own PC software, are bundled with MyScript Notes. This application supports work with several dozen languages.

Each digital pen has some semblance of an internal hard disk which stores data until it is downloaded to a computer. Its capacity ranges from 50 to several thousand electronic pages. The best digital pens also count down the remaining memory in hours of audio recording.

Ease of use

The increase in technological saturation of electronic devices, in fact, makes them more difficult to use, so the increase in functionality must outweigh any complications associated with the new technology.

Also, avoid choosing a pen that makes the user feel the need to re-learn skills learned in the early years of elementary school or require effective work lengthy preparation.

Installation and download software should be simple. Manufacturers must provide detailed instructions so that you can quickly start using your device. In addition, the gadget package must include accessories necessary to provide basic functionality. The best digital pens have many add-ons that can be purchased separately if the user has become a specialist who understands all the features of the device.

Help & Support

Manufacturers should provide the level of assistance and support for the digital pen so that it is as comfortable to use as possible. It is obligatory to have training materials, Internet forums, answers to frequently asked questions, technical support and contact information. In addition, the manufacturer must provide the ability to purchase ink for refilling cartridges, paper (if required) and other accessories.

The digital pen is a great tool for taking notes and sketching in situations where the use of a laptop or tablet is limited because it attracts less attention during class and business meetings. In addition, the compactness of such devices makes them an excellent tool for gathering information in situations that would be difficult or impossible for laptops or tablets.

Livescribe 3 Smartpen

This is a digital pen that has received the most positive reviews. It uses amazing technology. A tiny camera inside the device records the movement of the pen tip relative to the dotted paper. Notes are broadcast via Bluetooth to a nearby iPad or iPhone with free app Livescribd. Handwriting is translated into text, sections of which are tagged with keywords.

But that is not all. The Livescribe 3 Smartpen digital pen can also record conversations or lectures. And if you need to return to a specific section of audio, you can, in order to check that the correct word has been recorded, simply touch this word in your notes with the stylus located at the opposite end of the pen. The audio recording will be played from the specified point.

To listen to the recording, in addition to a special notebook, you will have to take your iPad or iPhone with you. But the fourth version of the device was finally able to get rid of other troubles that were encountered in earlier models. The glossy black handle is well balanced and comfortable to use. Specialty paper is widely available, is the size of a magazine, a notepad, and even a sticker, and is not much more expensive.

The pen weighs 34 g, is 86 mm long and 15 mm in diameter. Battery life - 14 hours. Recorder capacity - 20,000 pages. The Livescribe 3 Smartpen is priced at $ 189.

Electronic Pen Atary Digital Pen

The Atary Digital Pen allows you to store up to 100 pages of A4 text in memory, operates on a single battery charge for up to 10 hours, does not require the use of special paper, and provides an accuracy of 120 dpi. The pen can be used instead of a stylus, a PC mouse, and a tablet for graphics applications.

The supplied program MyScript Notes supports 85 languages, including Russian, recognizes isolated, handwritten block letters and solid letters. Allows you to recognize diagrams, tables and geometric shapes, export documents to word processors, and to e-mail.

Digital Pen 3Q DP103

This device is compatible with phones and tablets running on all popular platforms equipped with Bluetooth module... Weighing 18.6 g, 142 mm long and 14 mm in diameter, the pen can store up to 100 pages of text and provides up to 90 hours of continuous use. Works in conjunction with a receiving device at a distance of no more than 1 m from the electronic pen. Complete with a base unit, USB cable, writing pen, CD with software and a quick user's guide.
