Lenovo ideapad 100 which card.

Recently, Lenovo has especially pleased its fans with new additions to the lineup of laptops. It is noteworthy that diversified models are produced, both budget and premium class. V this review we will talk about the representative of the low-cost segment - IdeaPad 100-15, focused on meeting the daily needs of computer users.

This 15-inch gadget can hardly be called representative, but it will perfectly fit into a home or office interior. It is not heavy duty either, but for everyday life it is a great option! Well, let's not beat around the bush and get down to business.

Design

The manufacturer claims that the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 is a device entry level... He assures that the gadget is suitable for those users who are just starting to master laptops, as well as for everyone who does not see any reason to spend unnecessarily on them. Accordingly, engineers were not particularly smart with the appearance of the laptop. Firstly, it is completely plastic, in a practical black color. The lid has an interesting textured coating that is pleasant to the touch. Although it retains fingerprints, it is not so active that this is a problem. There is a small company logo at the top, and nothing else.

When you open the laptop, the high hinge hinges immediately catch the eye, which form a decent gap. This does not affect functionality in any way, but, in general, it looks very good. The screen is surrounded by a not very wide frame, on the upper edge of which a webcam flaunts. The bottom surface is also plastic, and also black. The keyboard and touchpad feel quite comfortable.

The dimensions of the laptop are as follows: 378x265x23 mm, and the weight is 2.31 kg. In general, you can safely throw it into your bag and not be afraid of excessive weight on your shoulder. But with the build quality, not everything is so simple: the lid is easily deformed if you press on it, so you should beware of accidental impact on the device case, so as not to damage its integrity.

Display, sound and webcam

Regardless of which configuration you choose, the characteristics of the screen will be identical in each. So, the device is equipped with a 15.6-inch display with a rather modest, by today's standards, HD resolution (1366x768 pixels) and a pixel density per inch - 100 ppi. As you probably already guessed, the screen is not the strong point of this laptop, and you do not need to be an expert to understand this. The maximum brightness level does not even reach 250 cd / m2, with contrast, things are better - 546: 1. The sRGB gamut is only 54%, and AdobeRGB is even less at 47%, and these figures are considered quite low. The color reproduction, in general, also leaves much to be desired: the image turns out to be pale and unrealistic.

The display is based on a TN-matrix, so the viewing angles are very limited. In addition, it is better not to use the laptop outdoors, because due to the glossy surface and the lack of anti-reflective coating, it will be extremely difficult to see anything on the screen. Of course, all these facts are clearly not in favor of the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15, but what can you do, a budget laptop.

The device has only 1 speaker located above the keyboard. The advantage of this location is that it is directed directly at the user, and therefore will not be distorted and sound boomy, like from a barrel. However, talking about good quality there is no sound either, in particular, bass and low frequencies are practically inaudible. In principle, the sound should be enough for daily watching movies and listening to music, otherwise you can always use headphones.

A 0.3-megapixel webcam certainly won't do wonders. No, its capabilities will be enough for video communication, but no more.

Keyboard and touchpad

The bottom surface is made of a fairly hard plastic, on which fingerprints are willingly left, and dust also accumulates. As in the vast majority of modern laptops, the keyboard in this case is made on the island principle. It does not have too large square-shaped keys with white markings.

There are no features that would distinguish the keyboard from others: for example, the button is single-row, both have very modest dimensions. The arrow block is located close to the numpad, and therefore it is easy to touch it. As for the laptop power button, it is located above the keyboard, in the left corner. The key has a round shape, as well as tangible borders, so it will not be difficult to find it in the dark. Unfortunately, there is no backlight, which, again, is typical for budget notebooks. The buttons have average travel and good feedback, but the keyboard is not that good. Or rather, not so: if you type on it from time to time, you will not feel any discomfort, but working on it long time it will still not be very convenient.

As for the touchpad, it sits directly below the space bar and is slightly shifted to the left. Tactilely it is very pleasant, at least, fingers glide over it without difficulty. There is support for basic multi-touch gestures such as zooming, dragging, etc. The manipulator has a solid horizontal physical button that replaces similar mouse keys.

Performance

Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 (80MJ00AURK) laptop runs on Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system. By the way, this is not the only OS option, and depending on the selected configuration, the user also has access to the pre-installed Windows 8.1 or DOS in general.

As for the "heart" of this laptop, it is a quad-core Intel Pentium N3540 processor. Its initial frequency is 2.16 GHz, but thanks to Burst technology it can be increased up to 2.66 GHz. The chip is made in accordance with the 22 nm technical process, it has 2 MB of L2 cache and is considered energy efficient, because it consumes no more than 7.5 watts. The integrated Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail) supports DirectX 11, Shader 5.0, and its maximum frequency is 792 MHz. The symbiosis of the chip and this video accelerator allows us to talk about the performance of the filling, sufficient to carry out everyday simple tasks. It is clear that with more or less modern games, such a filling is not on the way.

By the way, Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 has a wide range of models, where the user can choose from more powerful hardware components. For example, you can choose the Intel Core i3-5005U chip or the Intel Core i5-5200U chip, which can work well with the NVIDIA GeForce 920M discrete video accelerator. The performance estimate would be incomplete without specifying memory. So, the amount of RAM is 2 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz standard, and this is quite enough for an entry-level laptop. If we talk about information storage, then it is carried out by a 500 GB hard drive with a spindle rotation speed of 5400 rpm.

Ports and communications

It just so happened that budget laptops do not pamper their customers with interfaces too much, but the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15, at first glance, has everything you need for comfortable work. WITH right side housed an optical drive DVD-RW, next to which - a slot for a Kensington lock.

The left side has USB ports 3.0 and USB 2.0, HDMI video output, RJ-45 network connector, a combined audio jack and, of course, a laptop charging jack, as well as a Novo button.

There is nothing at the back, but at the front you can see a 4-in-1 card reader (SD / SDHC / SDXC / MMC).

Wireless communications are the most common ones, namely Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Battery

A 3-cell, 24 Wh lithium-polymer battery can hardly demonstrate high autonomy results, rather the opposite. Testing was carried out with Wi-Fi on and with medium brightness. As a result, we have the following indicators: in web surfing mode, the device lasted almost 4 hours, watching HD-video discharged it in about the same time (3 hours 40 minutes), and a gaming session will last less than 3 hours. Thus, this laptop is designed to stay in close proximity to an outlet, and there can be no question of lasting an entire day on a single charge.

Conclusion

It's no secret that Lenovo is diverse in terms of its devices. We have already introduced you to its premium models, as well as mid-range laptops. However, this time we present a not very expensive laptop - IdeaPad 100-15. It has a 15.6-inch TN-screen with rather mediocre quality and not the best viewing angles. At the same time, a weak battery can be called a serious drawback of the gadget.

However, IdeaPad laptop 100-15 is a fairly wide range of modifications. Depending on the filling, you can easily choose a model that best suits your needs. Moreover, even the top-end equipment has a quite adequate price tag, which will appeal to the majority. What can we say about the configuration we have chosen, designed for everyday simple tasks, costing around $ 300!

The conclusion is this: despite the fact that Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 is a simple laptop, without any "tricks", it is guaranteed to have fans. The device is ideal for users who do not want to pay extra, but who need a laptop to work with documents, surf the web, watch movies, listen to music, etc. In a word, the device can become a loyal friend for everyone!

Top-end devices always attract a lot of interest, but the lion's share of sales is made up of solutions in the lower and middle price ranges. Everything is quite logical: why overpay for unused power, if many users need a computer primarily for surfing the Internet, working with office suites, watching videos or running not too demanding network games. All this is well understood by laptop manufacturers, which is clearly seen from the very wide variety of lines in these ranges. In this review, we will once again get acquainted with one of these laptops -.

It features a 15.6-inch display and processor Intel Core i5-4288U with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD, and also boasts a mobile graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 920MX. Quite a worthy combination for a wide range of tasks. Let's see what it can do in practice.

Delivery and packaging

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD comes in a standard colorless cardboard box. Decorated with only the manufacturer's logo and a couple of stickers with service information.

The complete set includes the usual gentleman's set: a compact power supply unit with a replaceable cable and a set of user documentation.

Appearance, arrangement of elements

Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD's design is pretty simple and recognizable. It looks quite nice and not completely boring, but also without any frills. The body is completely plastic: on the outside with a fine "waffle" texture, and the inside is just rough. The surfaces themselves, although matte, are like a magnet for dust and fingerprints, which are clearly visible in the light. In order not to look sloppy, you will need appropriate care. Fortunately, everything is cleaned quite simply with improvised means.

In terms of dimensions and weight (378 x 265 x 22.6 mm and 2.3 kg) we have a typical "tag" in front of us. The laptop cannot be called ultra-compact, and it is more designed for use in stationary conditions at home or in the office, but if necessary, it is quite possible to take it with you on the road.

The display unit is secured by two standard hinges located almost at the edges of the base. The hinges are quite tight, you won't be able to open them with one hand, but the fixation is just excellent.

For convenience, there are protrusions in the front part, so that there will be no problems with prying off.

The opening angle is standard 135 °, which should be enough for normal conditions use. The bezels around the display are fairly large (16mm on the side, 21mm on the top, 36mm on the bottom), but this suffers from most models in this price range.

On the working surface, in addition to the keyboard and touchpad, there was a place for stereo speakers in the form of a perforated area under the display.

All interfaces Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD are located on the left side edge. Home to the power jack, RJ45 ports, HDMI, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and a combined 3.5mm audio jack. Closer to the display, there is a grill of the cooling system, and on the opposite side there is a power button. On the right, there is only room for an optional optical drive and a Kensington security lock. The back is empty, while the front is home to LED indicators for charging and activity, as well as a card reader. Given the sufficient amount of space on the sidewalls, it was possible to equip the laptop big amount connectors or space them apart from each other, because even connecting charger can partially block the release of heated air outside the enclosure.

The base of the laptop is solid. There is a set of familiar rubber feet and an abundance of perforated places for CO air intake.

As for the build quality of the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD, everything is quite good: the parts fit quite well, there are no critical gaps, there is only a gap in the plug in place of the optical drive. The rigidity is also within the normal range - the display lid flexes a little, and the under-palm area and the base are malleable only in case of intentional and strong pressure.

Input Devices

The tested model is equipped with a full-size island-style keyboard (333.5 x 100 mm) with an additional numeric keypad.

The keyboard itself is fixed well enough and does not squeeze during operation. The keycaps are flat and are based on the familiar scissor-membrane mechanism, which has a short and very quiet stroke with a comfortable tactile response. All of them are quite large: the main ones are 14.5 x 14.5 mm; digital block - 14.5 x 14.5 mm; functional - 13 x 9.5 mm; arrows - 14.5 x 14.5 mm. By the way, by default [F] -keys perform additional actions, and activation occurs through a combination with (can be changed in BIOS). In general, the keyboard is great for work, but due to the different key sizes and the increased distance between them (4.5 mm), it will take some time to adapt.

The application of symbolic elements was carried out using the printing method in a uniform color scheme for the main and function keys... There is also a Cyrillic layout, but there is no backlight.

The small trackpad (90 x 46 mm) is slightly recessed into the palm area and is complemented by two physical buttons as a single element. The touch panel is not the most comfortable due to its rough surface, as the finger is reluctant to slide, although the sensitivity is at a more or less sane level. There is support for gestures, although not all (touching with two fingers (RMB) does not work, only a button). In the absence of a mouse, it is quite possible to work on it when performing undemanding daily tasks.

Display, webcam, sound

Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD is equipped with a 15.6-inch display (BOEhydis NT156WHM-N12) with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a pixel density of 100 PPI. Of course, the resolution is not high, but users not spoiled by flagship laptops and smartphones will be quite satisfied. The matrix itself is made using TN + Film technology and is distinguished by a glossy coating with LED backlighting. The vertical viewing angles are small, the horizontal ones are quite good, which is typical for this type of matrix. As for the color rendition, the resulting picture looks somewhat faded, with an obvious bias in cold shades, and at the same time is characterized by a modest level of contrast. The display is clearly not suitable for graphics or photography. But for work purposes and unpretentious video viewing, it will do quite well.

The dimming range is sufficient for working in the dark or in indoor conditions. But even if you sit near the window in sunny weather, the picture becomes hard to distinguish, and the glossy coating actively catches glare. Plus, when running on battery power, the backlight goes into auto mode and changes depending on the displayed picture.

It should be understood here that we are dealing with a typical inexpensive display that is installed in thousands of such laptops.

The key screen parameters are summarized in the following table:

SRGB coverage,%

Coverage of space Adobe RGB,%

Average deviation dE * 94 (E)

White point color temperature, K

Maximum / minimum brightness, cd / m2

Black field brightness, cd / m2

Contrast

Average gamut

In the center above the display is a very simple webcam with a resolution of 640 x 360 (360p), and next to it there is only an activity indicator, while the microphone is nestled under the left button. It is quite noisy and has a very narrow viewing angle (from a normal distance, only half a face fits behind a laptop), but even then it should be fine for Skype.

The audio subsystem of the device is based on the Conexant CX20751 / 2 HDA codec, and the area under the speakers is located above the keyboard. They are moderately loud. The sound is characterized by the absence of low and more or less tolerable middle and high frequencies. The speakers are quite suitable for watching YouTube or TV shows, and for listening to music it is better to immediately get the appropriate acoustics or headphones.

Hardware platform and performance

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD has an interesting 2-core / 4-thread Intel Core i5-4288U processor from the Intel Haswell family. Its base clock frequency is 2.6 GHz, and its dynamic frequency can rise up to 3.1 GHz. The TDP level does not exceed 28 W. By the way, this "pebble" was also used by Apple MacBook Pro 2013.

The processor integrates Intel Iris Graphics 5100 with 40 Compute Units (EU), but no additional eDRAM cache. It features support for API DirectX 12, OpenCL 1.2 / 2.0, OpenGL 4.3, and DirectCompute 5.0. The base clock frequency of the video accelerator is at 200 MHz, and the dynamic frequency rises to 1200 MHz.

In addition to the integrated video adapter, the laptop has a full-fledged NVIDIA GeForce 920MX mobile video card. It is built on the basis of GPU NVIDIA GM108 (Maxwell) and includes 256 CUDA cores and 16 texture units. The built-in DDR3 memory is 2 GB, and its effective frequency is 1800 MHz. In addition, NVIDIA GeForce 920MX has support for almost all popular technologies and APIs: DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5, Shader Model 5.0, and NVIDIA PhysX.

The CPU memory controller supports DDR3L-1333/1600 modules in 2-channel mode with a maximum capacity of up to 16 GB. In this case, one module (Samsung M471B1G73EB0-YK0) for 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 MHz standard is installed. In the future, it will be possible to add one more bar.

Disk subsystem Lenovo laptop The IdeaPad 100-15IBD is represented by a 256GB Samsung MZYTY256HDHP-000L2 SSD. This volume should be enough for most ordinary users, of course, unless you plan to store a lot of video content or raw photos on your laptop. Offhand: OS, main programs and even a couple of heavyweight games will take approximately 120-160 GB. And finding your favorite movies, TV series or music of interest has long been easier on the Internet, given the availability of broadband Internet. As for the SSD itself, we have very good speed indicators (560/533 MB / s in sequential read and write), close to the throughput of the SATA interface 6 Gbps.

Wireless communication is carried out through a combined network adapter Realtek RTL8723BE. It can transfer data using Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi standards. True, the latter is capable of working only in one band (2.4 GHz) and does not have support for the 802.11ac protocol. The wired connection is made through the Realtek RTL8139 / 810x module. Everything works quite standardly, without any complaints.

The reviewed model falls into the hands of a user without an operating system, so we installed 64-bit Windows 10 Pro for tests.

The power of the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD is more than enough for the average user. Its capabilities are enough for comfortable work with the Internet, mail, instant messengers, office programs, viewing and listening to all kinds of media content and basic photo processing. Why, you can safely edit amateur videos. Although the laptop is far from being a gaming laptop, if you wish, you can drive it into projects of the level of World of Warcraft, World of Tanks, Heroes of the Storm, Dota 2, DIRT Rally, CS: GO and Rocket League even at medium graphics settings. Due to the initially low display resolution, games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield 1 or DOOM (2016) can also be called playable at the lowest graphics settings.

Cooling system, noise level and temperature conditions

The laptop case Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD works active system cooling. Cool air is drawn in through the nets on the base, and heated air is discharged through the holes on the left side. The air temperature in the test laboratory at the time of measurements was 27 ° C.

In idle time or when performing simple everyday tasks, the temperature inside the laptop case did not rise above 48 ° C, and the CO itself worked very quietly. When launching gaming applications (World of Tanks and Battlefield 1) or stress tests, the indicators rose to the level of 71-78 ° С. In both cases, the noise was already noticeable, but it did not irritate and remained quite comfortable for long-term work with the device. The body is heated, but it cannot be said that it is particularly strong. Everything is within the bounds of permissible.

Power supply, battery and battery life

The tested model comes with a 65-watt Lenovo ADLX65NDC3A power supply. The input signal parameters are 100 - 240 V at a current of 1.5 A and a frequency of 50 - 60 Hz. At the output, we get 20 V at 3.25 A. During operation, it heated up to the usual 40 - 45 ° C.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD is powered by a non-removable 4-cell Li-Ion battery with a modest 1896 mAh (31.7 Wh, 16.7 V) capacity.

In Full HD video viewing mode with maximum screen brightness, the laptop worked for 2 hours and 18 minutes. The device lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes under maximum load using the Battery Eater test with Wi-Fi enabled and maximum display brightness. PCMark battery tests in "Home" and "Work" modes gave about 2 hours, while the charge remains about 20%. In both cases, the screen brightness was 50%. In real-world conditions, you should expect an average of 3-3.5 hours of uninterrupted mixed mode operation. This is a rather low figure considering all similar laptops we recently tested. The time to fully recharge the battery is just over 2.5 hours.

Outcomes

LenovoIdeaPad 100-15 IBD Is an interesting mid-priced laptop with its own strengths and weaknesses. At first glance, it looks more like budget model... Here you have a simple plastic case, a good full-size keyboard and an unremarkable acoustic system... All the most necessary ports and communications are in place.

But under the unassuming appearance is a decent hardware platform, represented by a bundle of a 4-thread processor of the Intel Core i5 series of the still current Intel Haswell series, 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD drive and an NVIDIA GeForce 920MX mobile video card. Thanks to this, I was pleasantly pleased with the speed and responsiveness of the system. The laptop is good at grinding office and multimedia tasks and allows you to play not only simple games, but even many modern demanding projects at minimum graphics settings in HD resolution. At the same time, it is not very noisy and remains comfortable for long-term use.

Of course, in its price category (roughly $ 513 (₴ 13299)), the competition was fierce. For example, you can find models with a newer processor, but no SSD, or with a better screen, but with less RAM, etc. That is, there are a lot of options, and it all depends on which benefits are more important to you. Nevertheless, Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD will be able to satisfy the needs of an undemanding user who not only works and absorbs multimedia content, but also does not mind playing occasionally.

Advantages:

  • pleasant appearance;
  • comfortable full-size keyboard and touchpad;
  • availability of all necessary ports and communications;
  • good performance of the hardware platform;
  • good cooling system.

Disadvantages:

  • the touchpad takes some getting used to;
  • the display could be better;
  • webcam leaves much to be desired;
  • relatively low autonomy.

We express our gratitude to the companyBRAIN Computers for the laptop provided for testing.

Ergonomics

The keyboard layout is familiar, special thanks for the numeric block on the right, and in general the convenience of the Lenovo 100-15IBY keyboard can be highly appreciated. The keyboard also performed well in operation (the entire text of this review was typed on the tested laptop). The F1-F12 keys work with the Fn button by default, and without it, the functions for controlling the volume, brightness and others work. For those who find this behavior unusual, you can change the settings in the BIOS once (you need a paper clip to press the Novo button).
(img: 13: click: big)
The touchpad of the Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop supports two and three-finger gestures.
The sound quality of the Lenovo 100-15IBY is satisfactory - the single speaker is quite quiet and when watching a movie, you will need to turn the volume up to maximum or close to it.
The Wi-Fi of the Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop on the Realtek RTL8723BE chip operates in the 2.4 MHz range and, using the supplied software, allows you to organize a hot spot - distribute wired Internet to others wireless devices(It is recommended to connect up to five devices at the same time).
The screen is moderately bright - it is quite comfortable to work in a room with a brightness of 50-75%, with a minimum brightness it is no longer possible to work. For the street, 100% brightness is already low, which is expected from a TN matrix.

Viewing angles of the Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop are also expected from TN-film matrix
(img: 18: click: big)
At less extreme angles, the picture is quite decent - watching a movie together will not be a problem.

The left location of the small number of USB ports seemed convenient to me - I am right-handed and when I work at a desk to the right of my laptop, I usually have a mouse or a graphics tablet.

Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop performance

To evaluate the performance of the storage system, we will use Crystal DiskMark 5.1.2
(img: 19: click: big)
The speed of the Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop hdd at 110 MB / s for reading and writing is a very good indicator, and replacing the disk with an SSD can boost performance well without sacrificing storage capacity - an empty slot for a DVD drive leaves hope for installing a second disk (via corresponding adapter).
And to evaluate the performance of the processor, we use CINEBENCH R15
(img: 20: click: big)
As usual, the tests were carried out after installing all updates and unloading all additional programs from the memory, and power-saving options were disabled in the power settings.
It is quite expected that modern 3D games cannot handle this configuration:
CS GO started, but gave no more than 12 FPS at minimum settings
(img: 21: click: big)
With other games that are resource-demanding, the situation is no better, while casual and kids are doing well. Crayon Physics Deluxe, WorldOfGoo, a series of games "Working" work without problems.
(img: 22: click: big)
Also, the games of the last decade - the second parts of Half-Life and Portal - were launched without any problems and at maximum settings.
(img: 23: click: big)

Heat and noise

Due to the low power consumption of the processor (TDP 7.5 W), the passive system can easily cope with cooling - the heating of the Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop is minimal.
(img: 24: click: big)
Temperatures were measured after an hour's stress test in a fairly warm room.
The lack of a fan also affected the silence - there is no noise at all on the Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop ( DVD drive there is no HDD in the tested model, but I could not hear the HDD).

Autonomy

The battery life of the Lenovo 100-15IBY notebook was measured using the BatteryEater Pro 2.70 program at 100% brightness and Wi-Fi on, 2 hours and 25 minutes elapsed before the notebook was turned off. The same operating time was obtained when playing a video file via Wi-Fi.
Moving a video file to HDD with disconnection wireless interfaces(airplane mode) and lowering the brightness to 25% made it possible to increase autonomous time work up to 3 hours 20 minutes.

conclusions

The Lenovo 100-15IBY laptop is not suitable for a demanding user for solving everyday tasks or as the first computer for a schoolchild, while you, due to the inability to play modern games, will most likely be hated, but such decisions have a positive effect on academic performance.
Of course, I would like to see a screen with large viewing angles and more capacious battery, but this will be a completely different budget.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD is an interesting mid-priced laptop with strengths and weaknesses. At first glance, it looks more like a budget model.

In terms of dimensions and weight, we have a typical "tag" in front of us.

The model is equipped with a full-size island-style keyboard (333.5 x 100 mm) with an additional numeric pad. The keyboard itself is fixed well enough and does not squeeze during operation. The keycaps are flat and are based on the familiar scissor-membrane mechanism, which has a short and very quiet stroke with a comfortable tactile response.

Under the unassuming appearance, there is a decent hardware platform, represented by a bundle of a 4-thread Intel Core i5 series processor of the still current Intel Haswell series, 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD drive and an NVIDIA GeForce 920MX mobile video card.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD will be able to satisfy the needs of an undemanding user who not only works and absorbs multimedia content, but also does not mind playing occasionally.

Lenovo is focused on the production of notebooks at an affordable price segment, which makes it one of the leading sales of budget laptops. In August 2015, the American vendor introduced new line laptop computers- Lenovo IdeaPad 100 15. Consider the capabilities of the least expensive representative of this lineup.

main destination

Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 is an affordable solution for everyday life. Intel Celeron N2840 2-core processor @ 2.16 GHz and integrated graphics from Intel are not designed, but with smooth operation browser, video player and programs like MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, this tandem does a good job.

A 15.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and a glossy finish received a TN + film matrix. LCD panels made using this technology give glare in the sun, but it is comfortable to work with a TN matrix indoors. The battery "lives" on one charge up to 3 hours, moreover, it is not removable. And this is another proof that the laptop is intended for use in the "office-home" mode: You won't be able to forget about the power source for a long time.

Note the presence of a card reader, a Web camera (0.3 MP, HD format), Wi-Fi standard 802.11 b / g / n and 1Gbps network adapter. These are important features for office work.

Game behavior

The manufacturer does not indicate the generation of the Intel HD Graphics: there is an "unnamed" low-level Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail), built into some Atom models (Intel Celeron N2840 is based on this architecture), nettops and system-on-a-chip. The video card supports DirectX 11 and is even based on the same architecture as the more powerful 4000th generation graphics, but instead of 16 unified processors it uses only 4 (max. 792 MHz). An analysis of his work in games is presented in the table below.

The Intel Celeron N2840 processor cannot boast of the presence of modern features like hardware virtualization or Hyper-Threading, which also affect the system in games.

In the "pluses" of Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 in terms of the gaming side, we will write down the possibility of increasing the RAM up to 8 GB: this is enough to run undemanding games.

Owners' verdict

A holistic picture of the performance of the Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15 laptop can only be based on genuine consumer opinions. After analyzing reviews from several popular resources, we will compare the positive and negative qualities of the device.

Thumbs up:

  • The combination of price and quality: similar configurations cost $ 50 more on average;
  • Compatible with current operating systems: Windows 10 does not slow down the laptop;
  • Small, quiet operation under standard loads (office applications, browser).

Thumbs down:

  • Soiled body: fingerprints have to be wiped off regularly;
  • Bad sound: one speaker, low volume;
  • Weak battery: 3-3.5 hours is the maximum limit.

Summarizing the review of Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15, it can be noted that the choice of this laptop will be a good solution for office work and study. There is nothing superfluous here, so the cost of the laptop is one of the most affordable in its price segment.
